مهدی امینیان پروژه‌ای بِینا فرهنگی را به اسم Roots Revival راه‌اندازی کرده که در آن به دنبال احیای ریشه‌ها و ایجاد گفتمانی بین فرهنگ‌های مختلف از طریق زبان موسیقی‌ست و در این مسیر بانی همکاری موزیسن‌هایی از کشورهای مختلف شده. این پروژه از سال 2013 آغاز شده و از آن زمان در قالب تولید آلبوم موسیقی، پروژه‌های فرهنگی و اجراهایی متنوع در فستیوال‌هایی مثل Morgenland و  و مراکز موسیقی اروپایی با هنرمندانی از فرهنگ‌های مختلف همکاری داشته است.
نشر موسیقی ساخت ایران در همکاری با این پروژه، آلبوم موسیقی «هرات، تو فراموش نشده‌ای!» را منتشر کرده. این آلبوم مربوط به جدیدترین اجرای آنسامبل Roots Revival است که به موسیقی هرات پرداخته و در آن ناریا نور و فاروق رحمانی به عنوان هنرمند مهمان حضور دارند. در سری اجراهای آینده، Roots Revival سراغ موسیقی بدخشان، شاعران زن پشتون و موزیسین‌های مهاجر افغانستان که ساکن اروپا هستند خواهد رفت.

The album "Herat, You Are Not Forgotten!" has been released.
Mehdi Aminian has launched a cross-cultural project called Roots Revival, aiming to revive cultural roots and foster dialogue between different cultures through the language of music. Since its inception in 2013, this project has collaborated with artists from various cultures, producing music albums, cultural projects, and participating in various performances at festivals and music centers across Europe.

Made in Iran Records has partnered with Roots Revival to publish the album. "Herat, You Have Not Been Forgotten!" album represents the latest performance by the Roots Revival ensemble, focusing on the music of Herat, with guest artists Naria Noor and Farooq Rahmani. In upcoming performances, Roots Revival plans to explore the music of Badakhshan, Pashtun women poets, and Afghan immigrant musicians living in Europe.
Album is available for purchase as well as on various music platforms for listening.

Dan Curtin stands as one of electronic music's most enduring and respected figures, with a career spanning over three decades that has cemented his reputation as a true pioneer in techno and house music. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio and now based in Berlin, Curtin has forged a distinctive sound that blends Detroit-influenced techno with melodic complexity and raw, funk-infused grooves. Curtin's impressive discography dates back to 1992, encompassing 70 singles and 9 albums released on acclaimed labels such as Peacefrog Records, Strictly Rhythm, Mobilee, and his own imprint, Metamorphic Recordings, which he founded in 1992 and continues to operate today.

Internationally acclaimed Iranian musician, Maestro Hamid Motebassem (based in The Netherlands), performed with the George Crotty Trio on May 30 at the Small World Centre as part of the Experimental Link Series in Toronto. This album display Montebassem’s talent as a composer of Persian classical music and as a stunning improviser on tar and setar.

Hamid Motebassem’s Persian classical composition served as the basis for a jazz-forward musical exploration at the Experimental Link show with George Crotty on cello, and award-winners Jonathan Chapman on bass and Dhaivat Jani on percussion. The Toronto-based trio led by Canadian cellist, composer and improviser, George Crotty, is known for cross-cultural interplay drawing on modal jazz, Indian raga and Arabic maqam.

Experimental Link Series aims to contemplate the Persian-Canadian experience by reinvigorating, re-exploring and re-imagining Persian traditional music within contemporary and cosmopolitan Toronto by inviting different musicians from the diaspora to collaborate.

در گذشته‌ها زمانی‌که رهگذری از «گذر خرابات» عبور می‌کرد، ناخودآگاه در مسیر گذرش، چندین بار توقف می‌کرد و به صدای رُباب و طبله که از خانه‌ها بیرون می‌شد، گوش می‌داد. اکنون این گذر حال و هوای گذشته را ندارد و در حالت بسیار بد به سر می‌برد. اما هنوز می‌توان یادگارهای موسیقی سنتی افغانستان را در آن حس کرد.
گذر خرابات در ناحیه اول شهر کابل موقعیت دارد. این گذر، یکی از گذرهای قدیمی شهر کهنه کابل است و در نزدیکی آن بالاحصار و شهدای صالحین قرار دارد. در گذشته این گذر به‌نام «خواجه خوردک» (زیارتی به‌همین نام در این کوچه موقعیت دارد) بوده است. بعد‌ها وقتی‌که در این گذر هنرمندان و آوازخوانان ساکن می‌شوند، به «گذر خرابات» مشهور می‌شود که اکنون نیز به همین نام یاد می‌گردد.
روایت است که در زمان امیر شیرعلی خان (۱۸۲۵-۱۸۷۹)، این گذر به نام «خواجه خوردک» یاد می‌شده است. بعد از مدتی که هنرمندان در منطقه‌ی بالاحصار جا به جا می‌شوند، کم کم به‌نام «کوچه خرابات» مشهور می‌شود. در قدیم، موسیقی بیشتر در دربار پادشاهان رواج داشته، اما در زمان عبدالرحمان‌خان یکی از شاهان افغانستان، موسیقی فاخر بین مردم عام نیز رواج پیدا می‌کند.
شهر کهنه کابل، مکان‌های تاریخی زیادی دارد. در نزدیکی گذر خرابات، نیز چندین مکان تاریخی مثل بالاحصار، کول حشمت‌خان، شهدای صالحین، زیارت چهارده معصوم، پنجه‌شاه، کوچه شمع‌ریز‌ها و کوچه‌ی عاشقان و عارفان نیز موقعیت دارد.
در گذر خرابات، هنرمندان بزرگ موسیقی افغانستان زنده‌گی کرده‌اند. برخی‌ها به این باوراند که موسیقی سنتی افغانستان در همین گذر رشد کرده است. از این هنرمندان می‌توان از استاد قاسم، رحیم‌بخش، نتهو، یعقوب قاسمی، شیدا و استاد سرآهنگ و دیگر هنرمندان نام گرفت.
معروف، ۲۰ سال می‌گذرد که در گذر خرابات موچی‌گری می‌کند و آهنگ‌های «استاد سرآهنگ»، به‌خصوص آهنگ «جانان خراباتم» را دوست دارد. او می‌گوید: «یک زمان در این کوچه، مردما بسیار لپ‌و‌چپ داشتند، قدر و عزت داشتند، اما جنگ و مهاجرت، همه را از همه گرفت، به استاد سرآهنگ و هماهنگ احترام داشتیم، قدیما هنرمندان در سماوار جمع می‌شدند، ساز می‌زدند و آواز می‌خواندند، جنگ شد، کوچه ویران شد.»
هنوز اکثر باشنده‌گان این کوچه، آهنگ‌های استاد غلام‌حسین و عبدالمحمد هماهنگ را گوش می‌دهند. قدیم، در کوچه خرابات «سماواتی» به نام «ربانی» بود که صاحب آن غلام‌ربانی نام داشت و مشهور به «آغاگل» بود. هنرمندان بعد از ظهر‌ها روی تخت «سماوات» او می‌نشستند، ساز می‌زدند و آواز می‌خواندند. اکنون در این کوچه، از آن «سماوات» خبری نیست.
محمد عیسا ۵۳ ساله است. او بیش از ۳۰ سال می‌گذرد که رباب می‌نوازد و چندین شاگرد نیز تربیت کرده است. اکنونی دکان رباب و طبله‌فروشی او در منطقه «جاده» شهر کابل دارد. محمد عیسا از بی‌توجهی حکومت به هنرمندان کوچه خرابات شکایت دارد: «در همین کوچه کون لوچ کلان شدم، فعلاً در خانه‌ی کرایی زندگی می‌کنم، خانه شخصی خود را در کوچه‌ی خرابات ایلا کردم، ناامنی است، دزد است. شب، وقتی از محفل به خانه می‌آییم، دزدان چاقو و کارد می‌کشند، ما را به غریبی نمی‌مانند، در این اواخر چند خانه چور شده است.»
به گفته محمد عیسا در گذر خرابات ۵۰۰ خانواده هنرمند زنده‌گی می‌کردند که حالا ۳۰ خانه بیش نیستند. او که ناراحتی در چهره‌اش نمایان بود، افزود: «آیا از حال ما خبر دارند، در چه حالت هستیم؟ نیستند، در کل حکومت‌ها، ما مردم آرام بودیم، در همین حکومت ما ناآرام هستیم، پولیس با دزد‌ها دست دارد و همکاری می‌کند، زندگی ما بسیار خراب شده است، غم ما را کسی نمی‌خورد.»
اکنون در این کوچه، فرزندان و برادرزاده‌های عبدالمحمد هماهنگ زندگی می‌کنند و در رشته موسیقی فعالیت دارند. آن‌ها بیشتر در محافل خوشی مردم آهنگ می‌خوانند و رباب و طبله می‌زنند. نصیر هماهنگ (پسر استاد هماهنگ)، جاوید هماهنگ (برادر زاده هماهنگ) و سلطان هماهنگ (داماد هماهنگ) در گذر خرابات خانه دارند و زندگی می‌کنند.
در کوچه‌ی خرابات، خدمات شهری بسیار پایین است. خانه‌های قدیمی و جدید کنار هم قرار گرفته اند و چهره کوچه را زشت ساخته‌اند. اکثر خانه‌ها، تشناب‌های‌شان به کوچه می‌ریزند و تعفن شدید را در این فصل به وجود آورده است. عَرض کوچه‌ی خرابات چهار متر و طول آن نزدیک هزار متر است (در برخی از قسمت‌های کوچه، عرض آن کم و زیاد شده است) چند سال قبل، «بنیاد آغاخان» این کوچه را «سمنت» کرد، اما اکنون قسمت‌هایی از آن دوباره خراب شده است.
