Started Dj-ing in 80s at indie gigs and then on pirate radio/tv station Network 21. Opened his first club in 1985, Toured as DJ with The Shamen, then signed with Rising High Records for the albums Flying High, Global Chillage. Joined up with Pete Namlook to record two albums as Dreamfish. Did two sessions for BBC's John Peel. Residencies at underground clubs like Lost and Megatripolis. Remixed Coldcut's Autumn Leaves which went on to become a classic. Played at Love Parade and Glastonbury festival throughout the 90s. 

Wrote for NME, Mixmag and i-D magazine, presented The Chill Out Zone on Kiss FM.Toured Europe, USA and Japan repeatedly, made mix CDs like The Morning After, Abstract Funk Theory, God Bless The Chilled. Signed with Ninja Tunes and made the album Its Tomorrow Already and singles Nepalese Bliss & Fish Dances. Got involved with the Big Chill at the very beginning in 1994 and played every year since for them. Appeared in the cult movie Modulations. Recorded an album in Japan with Jonah Sharp and Harry Hosono of YMO. Made a TV commercial, soundtracked a play on Radio 3 and remixed the Dr Who theme for the BBC. Talked about Brian Eno on C4. Moved his Nubient club to Big Chill Bar. Won Ibiza Chillout DJ of the year - twice. Did two mixes for Rob da Banks show on Radio 1. Remixed Anne Garner and 6th Sense. Made an Altermodern podcast for the Tate Britain.  2010 won Best Downtempo DJ again, and started new job running Apollo label as part of R+S...

 I.R.A. aka Irapalot is a new up and coming artist based in hip-hop but sounds like the bridge between the more indie rock and soul sounding musical inspirations. "HVM" produced by Allen Marcell makes you feel like your listening to a rap song made in the disco era and serves as his first single from his debut album "The Free Spirit" set to be released later this year. The new artist has a unique flow, melodic voice, and down to earth everyday person concepts that he showcases on his prior releases on bandcamp and soundcloud as well as videos on youtube that nothing less than visually capturing. I.R.A. is gearing up to raise a level of consciousness of music with every release and hopefully we wont miss a beat.

This account is strictly for promoting artists and the tunes they create. I own no rights to the tunes. I merely love the music and play these tunes out every chance i get. I also believe that we as Dj's should be doing a better job at promoting the tunes we play so that the artists we are showcasing are getting more recognition. Hence the reason for this account.

Originally hailing from Glastonbury, UK and nurtured on a strict diet of mixtapes, raving in fields and doodling in school books, producer, DJ and visual artist, Alex Eveson aka Dead Man's Chest, has been making his journey through the deeper spectrums of drum & bass / jungle since the mid 2000's.

After initially breaking into the scene as a designer (with artwork for labels such as Metalheadz/Exit Records), Eveson’s music soon became the centre of attention after Fabio debuted a selection of early productions on his BBC Radio 1 show in the summer of 2006. In the ensuing months, Eveson went from a little known name to one of the most featured Drum & Bass artists on UK airwaves, whilst his signature 'soulful and groove driven’ sound found it’s way into boxes of DJs from all corners of the scene, gaining support from Goldie, LTJ Bukem, Bryan Gee, Grooverider, Marky, Shy FX, dBridge, Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Doc Scott, Total Science & more...

The next few years saw Eveson stacking up releases across a selection of the scene's most prominent labels from original pioneers Good Looking Records, 31 Records and Creative Source to new school taste makers Horizons, Critical and Shogun Ltd. In 2012, Eveson released his debut LP 'The Last Summer Of Love' on V Records, a genre bending album of influence and exploration.

After a brief hiatus DJing in the French Alps, 2014 saw Eveson re-emerge as Dead Man's Chest (as a means to explore his original influence of early 90s rave tapes), producing a series of EPs for Ingredients Records that culminated in the 2016 release of the Trilogy Mixtape; a 90 minute collage of tripped out jungle revivalism. 

2017 marked the latest chapter in Eveson/DMC's career; a slew of chart dominating records leading to 'Best Breakthrough Producer' nominations at both DJ Mag's 'Best Of British' & the 'We Love Jungle' awards, and the launch of Western Lore; a record label which serves as both channel for Eveson's musical and visual ideas, and a space for emerging artists to truly explore their unique style and individuality.
