What is a story without a plot? A journey without a destination? A movie without a soundtrack? A song without emotion?

These are the questions that carve Rustam Mansurov and James Peacock’s unique dynamic signature as Magnetude, an act with one of the most distinctive, exciting and dramatic sounds in contemporary drum & bass.

On a much deeper level, these questions are what magnetised the Anglo/Russian duo together in the first place. Born thousands of miles apart - and seemingly kept apart through an array of life complications - they remain kindred spirits connected through a series of shared passions, visions and creative ideologies.

Both sharing rich histories in music – Rustam was playing piano aged 9, James was playing violin aged 12 – they’re both heavily inspired by the importance of detail, orchestral dynamics and story-telling in music. Moved by the works of composers ranging from Ennio Morricone and Danny Elfman to Amon Tobin, John Williams to Ilya Beshevli, no amount of distance can quench the duo’s synergy and energy.

It’s a synergy that began in 2010 when they met on VKontake, and developed when Rustam was signed to Close 2 Death, a label James was A&R for at the time. In 2015 it evolved into a much stronger energy when the pair left Close 2 Death and started to collaborate on their own music. By 2016 the ‘Hyperdrive’ EP was born and Magnetude was ready to reveal to the world. It was delivered by one of most influential, innovative stables in the heavier D&B pastures at the time – Lifted Music.

Quickly appearing on some of the most prominent imprints in drum & bass culture such as Eatbrain, Renegade Hardware, Viper and RAM Records, their music has gone on to appear on games such as Project Cars and Freaked Fleapit, and between them they’ve torn dancefloors apart from Creamfields to Let It Roll, Pirate Station to XOYO. Most recently, they’ve co-founded the exciting forward-thinking, community-minded collective @EvolutionChamberOfficial alongside like-minded fusionists @TaskHorizonAudio and @ReceptorMusic.

Reminding the scene of the importance of strength in numbers and how the best things happen when people come together, Magnetude’s creative signature grows stronger. The plot thickens, the journey continues…

Portsmouth based Macca first teamed up with Leeds' very own Loz Contreras back in 2013. Their first collaborations were picked up by Rotterdam’s Fokuz Recordings, releasing high profile tracks such as ‘Always Yours’, ‘Players Ways’ and ‘Wanna Be Your Lover’, before getting remixes from S.P.Y, Technimatic, Lenzman and Sun and Bass’s very own FD. 

With sets at Europes biggest festivals Sun and Bass, Let It Roll and Liquicity and releases on Shogun and Spearhead Records, they are becoming regular names on the circuit.

Biography:

Filip Motovunski is a Drum and Bass / Jungle / HipHop DJ and producer from Motovun, a magnificent mountain top town in the beautiful area of Croatia called Istria. Involved with music since his early childhood as an MC and beatmaker in his rap band PCP. In 2007 Filip releases his first Jungle / Drum and Bass EP ‘Ta Pa Tap’ for Canadian label Junglexpeditions and next up ‘Sort Dem Out’ EP in collaboration with DJ Rahmanee. He has remixed a large number of songs such as ‘KRS – One - Sound of tha Police’, Beenie Man’s - ‘Who am I’, ‘Gorillaz - Saturnz Barz’, ‘Nas - Nas is Like’ that have all become widely popular.  Continues with originals on German BPM Records such as ‘Noonshine EP’, the official remix of Kiril Dzajkovski's famous ‘Jungle Shadow’ , ‘Love Frequency ft. Michael Kworka’ and ‘Lava / Shakka’ single that was well supported by DJ Hype, Skeptical, Krust, Marky, Klax, Crissy Criss and many others. With double CD LP „Ten Years Making Beats“ for Croatian PDV Records Filip marks a decade of impressive career.
In 2017 Filip Motovunski became a part of Bad Taste Recordings, the highly acclaimed label of the iconic Vegas from Bad Company UK. His first single ‘Right Here / Lava VIP’ experimented with Filip’s first music video for ‘Lava VIP’. Next was the ‘Lion King Remix’, a Bad Taste Free download that shook the whole DnB network, including articles on the leading electronic music websites UKF.com and EDM.com. His next DnB remix of the popular Reggae song ‘Belly of the Beast’ by Hornsman Coyote & Jah Mason can be heard in the DJ sets of Bad Company, B-Complex, Ed Solo, Kursiva and many others. ‘Check Out The Vibe EP’, ‘Combination / Get Some’ singles are some of the many Bad Taste releases during 2018. Filip marked the end of 2018 with the release of two tracks ‘The Street / Burp’ on DJ TeeBee’s legendary Subtitles Music, both getting rinsed on Rene LaVice’s BBC Radio 1 show, heard in sets of Doc Scott, Kyrist, Monty and more, also uploaded on the leading Drum and Bass YouTube channels : Skank & Bass and DNB Arena. 
In 2018. Filip Motovunski won Best Bass DJ award at prestige Croatian Ambasador Awards. 
Entering 2019 with 3 more official remixes on Bad Taste, Red Light and Born on Road for Benny Page, Kursiva, Aries, Rahmanee and N.O.H.A. Teaming up with Billain on „Space Language“, impressive tune on Billain's Extraction EP. Continuing on Subtitles Music with the release of two more original pieces ‘Conversation / Argument’ followed by the remix of Hempress Sativa - ‘Rock it ina Dance’ as another legendary Bad Taste Free Download that got #1 spot on HypeEdit drum & bass charts and #3 spot on Mixmag Adria’s top 15 all genres remixes of the south-eastern European region. At the end of 2019 Filip released “Frog Horn” on the Program 100 VA compilation, the sister label of Andy C’s Ram Records. „Frog Horn“ gets support by Kings of the Rollers, Dr. Meaker, Kursiva, Isaac Maya and more.
Mixmag Adria puts Filip on #8 spot of top 40 all genres producers from the region and his “Conversation/Argument” release on #10 spot of all genres releases of 2019. 
2020. is starting with “For My Dogs” on Bad Taste being premiered on BBC Radio 1.

Born and raised in Perth, Blayze is no stranger to the Perth bass scene. initially a guitarist for many years, Blayze made the switch to the bass scene due to an early influence from the group Pendulum. It is quite easy to see his extensive musical background within the quality of his productions.

Blayze released his debut EP titled "Symbols", which with no surprise peaked at number 8 in the beatport top10 releases, gaining features from over 15 different YouTube channels from the likes of DnB Portal, NXS and DnB express, aswell as his track Symbols being featured by the Artist Intelligence Agency.
