“Stand With Us to Bless the Waters” is our prayer of solidarity for the Lakota Sioux Nation, & all the Water Protectors who have converged in North Dakota Standing Rock Reservation at the Dakota Access Pipeline. This is the first time in centuries that all the indigenous nations of Turtle Island (America) have come together in unity & guardianship for our Earth. This unprecedented tribal convergence has been catalyzed by the pipeline, but is representative of something much larger & more profound than a protest. 

In support for the situation in North Dakota, Amani Friend (Liquid Bloom) and Summit Jaffe (Numatik) were both separately inspired to create music for water and prayer.  Coincidentally, the two tracks were both finished at the same time on fall equinox and they were also written in the same key, making it ideal to interweave them into a one unified piece of music. While sitting in the New Mexico Hot Springs after Unify festival, Amani and Summit had the inspiration to curate this remix album. Producers from all over the world, like Earth Cry, Mystral, Soulacybin, Martin’s Garden, Ecometric, Gumi, and Twin Shape added their unique psychedelic downtempo flavors. Native elders like Black Fox Pomani and Yona FrenchHawk imbued the music with intentional water prayers. United together, we humbly offer this medicinal musical journey in support and healing. Water is Life!

Liquid Bloom, founded by producer Amani Friend (Desert Dwellers | Desert Trax), is a visionary world-electronic project that bridges ancient traditions with modern production to create immersive, transformative sound journeys. Emerging in the late ’90s from explorations in organic trance for healing, it has grown into a global vessel for ceremony, dance, and inner exploration, merging shamanic instrumentation, ethereal vocals, and sacred world traditions with cutting-edge electronics. 

Collaborating with artists like Poranguí, Mose, Deya Dova, Ixchel Prisma, and Savej, Liquid Bloom has appeared at international festivals such as Ozora, Boom, Envision, and Rainbow Serpent, while also serving as a soundtrack for breathwork, psychedelic therapy, cacao ceremonies, and ecstatic dance gatherings. Its music, which has featured voices like Paul Stamets, Dr. Joe Dispenza, and Ram Dass, continues to offer sonic sanctuaries for healing, connection, and transformation.

Billy Love (aka Loveautivity) is a DJ and producer based out of Colorado. His style reflects his deep-rooted love for music; generating compilations of unique samples and sounds ranging from organic percussion to psybient, tribal, trip-hop, glitch-hop, tropical, house, and feel good melodies. Billy Love’s sound reflects his intense creativity, psychedelic alertness and devotion to audio experimentation. Making his mark on the Colorado music scene, Billy Love’s energetic presence and ability to manipulate sounds stemming from the use of live instruments, sample extracts, controllerism and live remixing allow his audience to enter elevated levels of consciousness and delve into their deepest, instinctual routes of movement. He found his niche performing for the sun as it rises. All About :: The Art of Collage & Rhetorical Velocity

I am specifically interested in situations where composers anticipate and strategize future third-party remixing of their compositions as part of a larger and complex rhetorical strategy that plays out across physical and digital spaces. We find this type of thinking—the asking of “how might the text be rewritten?” and “why, where, and for whom might this text be rewritten?”—an increasingly important set of questions in a digital age characterized, for instance, by swift, easy, and deep web searching and by copying and pasting practices. 

COLLAGE ::  Artistic compositions of materials and objects pasted and/or sewn/woven over and through surfaces, often with unifying and/or juxtaposing structures, lines, colors, themes in order to create textured, alive, amplified spaces.
