Kusht — The Tale of a New Earth

Over the last years, the 28 years old Argentinian Gabriel Epstein has been investigating and recording ethnic and tribal sounds worldwide. When he’s not travelling over long distances and working as an actor, the producer finds the time to make music, focused on the gathering of instrumental live music and its heart-felt effect on people, by using flutes, kalimbas, Didjeridu, jew's harp and native drumming elements. From that, we have Janax Pacha, which means the land of Heaven ("tierra del Cielo" in native Andean language), and Gabriel senses it not just as an artistic name, in fact, it's a concept, a meeting point between music and dance. It blends field recordings, analog and digital synthesizers, acoustic instruments and soulful shamanic chants, in order to provide the genuine style Janax Pacha is.

"Tierra Del Cielo" EP aims to get people on to their feet and smiling, to get people more connected to their essence, getting rid of noise distraction, heartbeat slowed down; keeping it quite simple the majority of the time but throwing a variety of instruments. Into the opening track 'Bamboo', it enacts a common ritual of indigenous medicine in the quiet bamboo woods, where a fine, aromatic powder should be blown through the nostrils, bringing peace, energy, scaring away laziness of those who use it, therefore, blowing sounds and wooden instruments as the Pancuyo and Marimba compose the theme. By its turning, 'Rainbow Child' is the result of a jamming session with his shamanic guide Cristian Tao. So, the arrangements and percussions played by Gabriel, creates a real matching for the savvy vocals of Cristian. Lastly, 'Canoa', where the artist idealizes himself in a canoe on the Amazon River, sitting next to a divine mythological being. In this scenario, three different drums add motion to the scene; two of them linked by the percussionist tribes who occupy both riverbanks and the last one hovering over the canoe. And it all comes with a sober minimalist artwork created by the Argentinian visual artist Leni.

Janax Pacha — Canoa

Stepping into the roots of African dance culture, “Ayé Yewo” is a sonic tale of union told through the lens of electro-instrumental fusion project Liquid Bloom. A marriage of heartfelt vocals and instrumentation by musical healer Poranguí with the spirited rhythms of tribal dance music, this luminous sound journey from multi-genre producer Amani (of  Desert Dwellers) draws upon a legacy of acoustic and electronic sounds wrapped in the warmth and vitality of exotic deep house. Accented by production and instrumental contributions by Spice Trader, and paired with an ethereal remix by neo-western producer Tone Ranger, “Ayé Yewo” comes together as a celebration of happiness and the timeless binding power of movement and song.

En este primer relato Hankel Bellido a.k.a Hanuna quien se crió en Perú, nos comparte que su fuente de inspiración surge a los 14 años con sus primeros acercamientos a la música electrónica; después de mudarse a Lima a los 17 años descubre su interés en las nuevas fusiones y corrientes musicales con tintes de música tradicional u orgánica, cuestión que le motivaría a introducirse en la producción comenzando así una exploración musical al realizar y liberar sus primeros Edit’s. 

Para 2019 libera su primer pista titulada Nuestra Tierra, un tema cargado de sentimiento e inspiración donde agrega registros de su abuela en su lengua materna Quechua; para el presente año 2020 libera su primer EP via @NewLatamBeats titulado #Chakana, y una colaboración con su colega y amigo @TribilinSound la cual es liberada via @CosmovisionRecords, producciones donde busca compartir un sonido más solido proponiendo un viaje de música global.

Sin duda su talento y constancia van consolidándose, cuestión que le han llevado a compartir su sonido en diversas plataformas internacionales de música emergente, tal es el caso de @Kumbale con base en Alemania, @CosmovisionRecords en Canada, @paukentrompeten en Dresden, @kievethno en Ucrania y ahora con el honor de presentarlo via @WiphalaSound desde México.

Ahhhh yes! I can't even put into words how grateful I am that I channeled this into existence! 

One thing positive about our current state of affairs, for any artist, is that it provides us with a great deal of artistic time to create. 

Recently, i've been using this time wisely, and in doing so, this one turned out really nice! It's super deep and sexy with a beautiful hybrid- fusion of multidimensional bass-centric, deep-tech- electronica, imbued with cosmic, etheric, psychedelic, hypnotic underground beats! 

This is truly a journey and ride worth delving into. In my opinion, it really provides you with the true essence and soul of global dance culture. But hey, I'm pretty biased for saying all this due to the fact that I created it therefore, don't take my word for it... you'll just have to listen for yourself.  

I would like to take this opportunity to pay my respects to Treavor Moontribe & Amani Friend of Desert Dwellers. The last portion of this mix has a few of their tracks from their new Breath Re-Imagined Vol. 3 which added a really sweet ending to the experience. These brothers are simply top notch artist - producers and they did such a beautiful job producing that album. Thank you so much for sharing your medicine and gifts with us gentlemen. I am always so impressed with your amazing talents.
