There are many different approaches to building the journey we call Ecstatic Dance. Here at Ecstatic Dance Records we refer to the following “phases” for the Ecstatic Dance journey: 
Arrival * Buildup * Peak * Cruise * Landing * Integration 

Arrival tracks welcome the community to the space and the dance floor. Buildup tracks get the energy moving. Peak tracks are for catharsis and climax. Cruise tracks are played between peaks, giving the dancers a chance to get recharged. Landing tracks carry the dancers down from the final peak into the heart. Integration tracks are played at the end of the journey to hold the “beingness” after all of the dancing “doingness”.

Kaminanda - Echoes Of The Wild

The end of 2018 brings a new chapter to Liquid Bloom’s remix story as producer Amani Friend hands the reigns of one of his very first tracks over to nine rising and eminent producers for a contemporary reimagining. Whispers of Our Ancestors Remixes is the tale of a single journey told through nine different perspectives, each offering their own interpretation of the meditative soundscape first envisioned by Amani over twelve years ago. 

Like most of Liquid Bloom’s original tracks, “Whispers of Our Ancestors” draws upon a myriad of soothing instrumentals, delicate vocals, and serene elemental samples to create a musical landscape inspired by the shamanic experience and intended for inner exploration. Colored with gentle intrusions of Native American flutes and rattles, Indian-style stringwork, and hauntingly beautiful chanting, the track has offered its remixers a trove of provocative stems and samples to guide their unique sonic visions.

Within the collection, listeners encounter everything from broken-beat chillout and psychedelic bass to slow-house rhythms and techno-styled progressive beats. Connected by the defining features of the original track, each remixer uses distinct beat and bass elements to shape their tracks and explore the boundless layers hidden within the source material. 

Among the more expansive remixes, Master Minded offers up a hallucinatory array of fresh tribal instrumentals and energetic synths backed by an indulgent broken beat, while Ancestral Elephants adds a soothing beat progression that relishes in the slow and hypnotic potential of Liquid Bloom’s iconic soundscapes. Desert Tracks label artist Stratusphere explores the delicate and emotive aspects of Whispers with a richly textured psychill interpretation that could easily serve as an opening track to an emotional live performance.  

On the dancier side of the spectrum, past Liquid Bloom collaborator Drumspyder adds his signature drum styling and lively stringwork in an energetic, house-styled interpretation ready for the dance floor. On a similar wavelength, Desert Trax artist Griffin Paisley brings his ethereal “slow house” styling to the collection in an atmospheric journey ripe for morning explorations on a dusty dance floor.   

Downtempo producer and instrumentalist Momentology comes together with DJ Taz Rashid to offer up two profoundly different remixes: one, a progressive techno-styled dance floor tune,

Embarking on their second collaborative endeavor, the Italian beat makers and multi- instrumentalists, Halfred and Lo.Renzo further solidify their close working relationship with their first EP as Jakare. Released on Desert Trax, Jakare’s ‘Apu’ EP is the culmination of all that’s dear about both artists’ creative vision, blending intricate technical design with melodic tenderness and biophilic atmospherics. The artists’ choice to pursue these 
new avenues of shamanic downtempo music reflects their willingness to start afresh under a new alias and pursue experimentation without the pre- conceived associations with their solo projects. 
In the course of four songs, the duo paint a truly vivid picture of ancient life in nature and taking inspiration from different modern cultures; from the slight nod to the bluesy Latin American marshes of ‘Cleansing’, Andean flavors on ‘Glass Temple’, the instrumental grooves of ‘GloBall’ and aquatic night time swims in ‘Moon Howl’, the EP stays consistent in its overall aesthetic and harmoniousness throughout. The duo utilize charango, classic guitars, electric guitar, pan flute, shakers, percussions to bring the organic sound, while relying on their masterful sound design techniques to develop 
cinematic field-recording- based atmospherics. 
Apu arrives on Desert Trax May 31st. Jakare will also debut their live show at Spain’s Own Spirit festival this summer. Get ready to grow leaves out your ears!

The latest edition of our free download series welcomes @im-sander. The French producer created a reinterpretation to @elfenberg's "Bazaar".

trndmsk: What inspired you to make the reinterpretation? How did you approach the original track? Where and how did you produce it Where did you record it? And how?

Sander: I discovered Elfenberg with the track "Bazaar". I immediately loved It and felt inspired to reinterprete it with my own style. From this moment, I reached them and @metanoiarhythm (the label who released this pearl), to know if they were interested about my proposition and they did. 

The first time I listened to it at home, I knew i wanted to keep the vocals, a little flute plus some few background elements. Then, i built the beats as i love to do with rich offbeat elements to bring seducing groove. The main idea was to make the track more punchy without increasing too much the bpm, so the beat was essential to fulfill this goal. I also worked on creating an hypnotic arpeggiator and a discrete pad to surround everything together.

Why do you want to provide it as a free download?

This is not an official release, as i asked to reinterprete it for the simple but huge pleasure to write music. So i decided that this pleasure could be shared as a gift for everyone who like the song.

What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects?

There is a lot of beautiful things coming up: Three EPs will be released on Metanoia, Crossings and Souq Records for the next six months. Beside, I’m working with Stephane Salerno since two years and we are now crafting a live act together to perform as a duo with several instruments on stage. He's my best partner in music, we have a unique symbiosis when producing or jamming together, finding a subtle way to include our movie soundtrack influences through electronic ones. It creates some unforgettable emotional moments to listen and play live together in the studio. In one month we will launch our duo live act for the first time in London for a Horde x Crossings showcase, then for a festival called Karnasouk in Paris, and several other countries for the next months. We are looking forward to reveal this project to the world.
