Next up in our Selections Series- 7 Years Retrospective Mix-  Mixed By Ant NebulaAnt Nebula is a Sydney-based Dj, label Dj for Mindspring Music, and Co-owner of Trimurti Records. He started his music career as a Dj in the late 90s, focusing on ambient/chillout music with the idea in mind to chill dance floors. His early influences stem from OST and early electronica sounds, such as Bola, Biosphere, and Apex Twin. He also curated compilations for Mind Spring Music in 2017 and Trimurti Records in 2020.

Ant Nebula brings a kaleidoscope of sounds into his DJ sets, layering ethnic elements, hypnotic melodies, and groovy beats, echoing the bipolar nature of his namesake - inviting the listener into a journey inward exploring the various textures of consciousness.

Liquid Bloom Dj Set @ Sanctuary Festival Nicaragua

Just days before Summer Solstice, Liquid Bloom performed a powerful set inside Meow Wolf Denver’s Numina exhibit as part of a sold-out PORTAL event during the Psychedelic Science conference. This unique night brought together a global web of psychonauts, artists, and seekers inside the surreal dreamscape of Convergence Station.

Following a rare and beautiful DJ set from East Forest, Liquid Bloom guided a journey from ambient and downtempo into bass, drum & bass, and tribal midtempo—culminating in a high-energy blend of house rhythms and ecstatic movement. A live surprise from Poranguí added soul-stirring vocals to the mix, and a closing invocation from Ram Dass gently brought the spaceship back to Earth.

2020 has been an eye opening year, revealing many things about our friends, family, and ourselves. One such thing I've noticed is how we all live in our own little bubbles.  All our connections, people we associate with, brands and companies we like and follow on social media, everything so rapidly consumed and absorbed day in and day out, it is only now in confinement where I've become more aware of this....

On a semi-related side note,  I'm a huge basketball fan. Any of my close friends would know this, so I've been ecstatic that the NBA has returned. Each player is living inside a literal bubble give the Pandemic. This basketball bubble has had my full attention these last 2 weeks... so I found it quite funny and a fantastic coincidence that a fellow DJ and Tony @aka_tony came to me with a LOST mix idea with the theme of "BUBBLES," Soap bubbles to be exact.  Thomas Williams alias @aka_tony started out as a DJ in Switzerland in the last century. I discovered him since he's played a few of my tracks in his mixes (thanks bud).  Since 2018 he spreads love and nice tunes as a resident at Radio GDS.FM in Zurich, where he has his own broadcasting slot. With Aka-Tapes Thomas runs his own podcast blog on Soundcloud. In the last couple of months he has crafted various podcasts for different channels around the globe. 

I was curious, so I asked him, how did this theme originate? His response was:

"After an eventful, beautiful and challenging decade in which people seemed to have found peace, determination and clarity, the situation changed abruptly. Almost from one day to the next, uncertainty, great challenges and suspicion returned. Everything and anything was questioned and the most adventurous theories made the rounds. People soon no longer knew who was friend or foe. Information was interpreted in a way that always protected their own interests. Objectivity and attentiveness were lost. To deal with this situation, creative people discovered the concept of the soap bubble. Soap bubbles with which one could wrap all the abstruse theories and theorists and gently send them on a journey of knowledge.
