Designed for Kuya, a state-of-the-art health clinic in Austin, TX that is incorporating paradigm-shifting therapeutics, integrative psychiatry, and regenerative medicine into a visionary approach to trauma processing and healing, ‘Cura’ offers seekers a soundtrack for their journeys toward rebalancing, and is now lovingly shared with listeners everywhere on behalf of Kuya and producers Amani Friend and Poranguí.

Embedded with the sonic signature of the world’s oldest musical lineages and enhanced with field recordings and samples from across the globe, ‘Kuya Sessions: Cura’ is best experienced in its “Journey Mix” format, where the boundaries between movements are as ephemeral as the voyage itself. In preparation for embarking on this ritualistic path, one is invited to create an environment for inner-exploration with the help of a quiet and dark room, headphones, an eye mask, and an intention of healing and discovery. 

The first installment in this four-part release series, ‘Cura’ draws upon a grounding array of instruments, vocalizations, and therapeutic musical stylings while showcasing Poranguí and Amani Friend’s tenacity for surreal, multi-dimensional sound. Distilled from the intention of providing listeners a path toward healing and a safe space from which to embark on that odyssey, ‘Kuya Sessions: Cura’ will continue to reveal itself with each subsequent visit for all who desire its therapeutic guidance.

Liquid Bloom and Poranguí, the dynamic duo known for their immersive journey music, have once again graced us with a masterpiece in the form of "Inner Sanctum (Medicine Buddha Mantra Prayer)." As part of their Kuya Series, which explores unique soundscapes for psychedelic therapy, this track stands out as a potent and soulful expression of sound healing.
The origins of "Inner Sanctum" can be traced back to the “Kuya Sessions: Samadhi” album, where it initially featured an excerpt of the Tibetan medicine buddha mantra sung by Poranguí.  Recognizing the potential distraction in its repeated presence during psychedelic therapy sessions, Amani Friend (Liquid Bloom) and Poranguí made a difficult decision to reduce its prominence in the original 25 minute track. This left them wanting to create a refined 9-minute version that beautifully showcased the Medicine Buddha Mantra.

Collaborating with the talented David Satori of Beats Antique and Dirtwire, Amani and Poranguí introduce a unique element to the mantra incorporating the haunting and mystical sound of the bowed banjo. The addition creates an ethereal melodic atmosphere, reminiscent of traditional East Indian instruments, providing further depth and texture to the rich sonic landscape.
The layers within "Inner Sanctum" are a testament to Liquid Bloom and Poranguí's commitment to weaving organic elements into their journey music. The careful arrangement of these layers creates a sonic tapestry that invites listeners to embark on a meditative exploration of their inner selves. In a world where chaos and stress often dominate, "Inner Sanctum" serves as a sanctuary of tranquility, inviting listeners to experience a sense of healing and solace.

The origins of the Medicine Buddha Mantra are deeply rooted in the tapestry of Tibetan Buddhist culture and lineage. Believed to have been bestowed by the historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, as a potent catalyst for healing, this sacred mantra holds a profound significance within the ancient scriptures and teachings. Woven intricately into the fabric of Tibetan Buddhist practices, it serves as a conduit for the transformative energy of compassion taking the listener on a sonic pilgrimage towards inner peace and well-being. 

As the Medicine Buddha Mantra resonates through the composition, it carries the intention of healing, making this musical offering more than just a sensory experience. It becomes a spiritual journey towards inner peace and well-being. Liquid Bloom and Poranguí have once again demonstrated their ability to craft music that transcends boundaries and elevates the soul.
