Then I Met You

Tango with Lions  releases her fourth album entitled “you.me.”. 

“you.me.” was created in Berlin and recorded in Athens, Greece, between September 2021-January 2022, at Lotus studios with producer Vasilis Dokakis.  The nine songs of the album build a tale of reflection on heartbreak and significant life changes, written shortly after the artist’s permanent relocation in Berlin, amid the pandemic.

The lyrics express the need of introspection and of processing the impact of various interactions with different people, time passing and global events. The songs observe, address questions or come to realisations about a different “you”, from the perspective of a different “me” in each tale.
                        
The arrangements are rich in synthesisers, nostalgic bass lines and distinct piano sounds. Some of the songs are built on outgoing beats and instrumentations, other songs are earthly, low-key and acoustic.
                        
Out on LP  and Digital on November 11th via Ιnner Ear.

Το “you.me.” είναι ο τέταρτος δίσκος της Tango with Lions.

Τα εννέα τραγούδια του άλμπουμ αναπολούν συνυπάρξεις με διαφορετικούς ανθρώπους σε διαφορετικό χρόνο και συνθήκες. Η κάθε μια από αυτές τις εννέα ιστορίες, παρατηρεί και διαπιστώνει το πώς με κάθε “you” ξετυλίγεται και ένα διαφορετικό “me”, ένας άλλος εαυτός που χειρίζεται τις καθοριστικές αλλαγές ζωής και τον έρωτα ή τον αποχωρισμό με πολύ διαφορετικό τρόπο στο πέρασμα του χρόνου. 

To “you.me.” ηχογραφήθηκε στην Αθήνα, στο Lotus studios με παραγωγό τον Βασίλη Ντοκάκη.  Οι ενορχηστρώσεις είναι πλούσιες σε synthesisers, νοσταλγικά μπάσα και ξεχωριστούς ήχους πιάνου, ενώ η φωνή εξιστορεί σε πρώτο πλάνο. Κάποια κομμάτια χτίζονται πάνω σε εξωστρεφή beats ενώ άλλα είναι low-key και ακουστικά. 

Κυκλοφορεί σε LP  και Digital Album στις 11 Νοεμβρίου από την Ιnner Ear.

Liquid Frame comes out in 1998 from the idea of two musicians with completely different styles: an accurate sound research with the help of samplers and digital systems and the presence of acoustic instruments. 
After the collaboration with “New Age Magazine” and the publication of two songs – "Psycho war" (1/1999), "By the sea" (3/1999) – Paolo Folzini and Marco Pieri (the original components of LF project) met an american black singer, Constance Foster (Kay Foster Jackson). 
After a few months of recording sessions came out “constance”, a trip-hop and acid Jazz album, that found many favorable opinions of criticism, first among a whole beautiful critique on the italian magazine “Tutto Musica”.

Among the few things that in this period I have had care to propose for commercial purpose, must be signalled the soundtrack of two naturalistic short films for the tour operator “Three Travel Revolution.”

Since then a lot of things are changed: the constant presence of Marco Pieri has been replaced from various musicians, who give voice to the part “acoustics” of the project.

In the first years 2000 LF Project have tried to deepen the knowledge of the electronic tendencies that were in bloom at the end of the nineties: Trip Hop of the first Massive Attack and Tricky, the Acid Jazz of the Mother Earth and the Drum’n’Bass of Aphex Twin and Goldie; have also tried to know how much more possible about the World Music, and have been spellbound from so different ethnic instruments (Kantele, duduk, sitar, banjo) so different and, at the same time, so similar to those of our tradition.
