Teleporting is the new album by Ted Taforo & Efajemue. Based out of Los Angeles the two artists have been working together for a long time and this EP is the sum of many studio and jamming sessions.
The music in this collection includes songs which were written as recently as this past year and some which were written as long as ten years ago. Ted & Efa explored their relationship to space in terms of distance. Some songs were recorded live in person while others were assembled remotely due the constraints of the pandemic. Their goal in the production of these compositions was to create organic material which blends elements of improvised language with processed electronic textures.

Teleporting tells a story from start to finish. Thorough the album the artists are inviting the listeners into a journey through their own world. For this 8 tracks EP you'll have a glimpse into the artists' minds and imagination. Almost like being there in the studio with them you'll be transposed for a short but amazing while.

Inner Echo

The night air was warm enough to taste.
A slow breeze drifted through the open‑air courtyard, carrying the scent of roasted spices, sweet fruit, and the distant hum of drums echoing from somewhere deep within the city. Lanterns hung from the trees like floating embers, swaying gently as if they were breathing with the rhythm.
Amara stepped into the crowd, her skin glowing in the amber light. She didn’t come here often — only on nights when the world felt heavy and she needed to remember who she was beneath all the noise. Tonight, the music called her before she even heard it.
A soft pulse.
A rolling bassline.
A rhythm that felt ancient and new at the same time.
The DJ stood beneath a canopy of woven branches, surrounded by percussionists tapping out intricate patterns on talking drums and shakers. The beat was fast — unmistakably Drum & Bass — but the soul of it was African, warm and alive, moving through the crowd like a heartbeat.
Amara closed her eyes.
The first vocal drifted through the speakers — a woman’s voice, soft and sweet, brushing against her skin like warm breath. It wasn’t loud. It didn’t need to be. It carried a kind of intimacy that made the entire courtyard lean in.
Bodies swayed.
Feet shifted.
The dance began.
Amara felt the rhythm wrap around her, pulling her deeper into the moment. Her hips moved first, slow and fluid, then her shoulders, then her whole body, guided by the hypnotic blend of percussion and bass. She wasn’t thinking anymore. She wasn’t trying. She was remembering.
Remembering the nights she danced barefoot on her grandmother’s porch.
Remembering the lullabies sung in soft, lilting tones.
Remembering the stories told through rhythm long before she understood the words.
The music wasn’t just sound — it was lineage.
A man stepped into her orbit, moving with the same effortless sway. He didn’t speak. He didn’t need to. Their rhythms aligned instantly, like they had been dancing together in another lifetime. The crowd around them blurred into colour and motion as they moved in perfect sync.
The vocals rose again — sultry, breathy, hypnotic — weaving through the drums like silk. Amara felt the sound settle into her chest, warm and electric. Every note felt like a touch. Every lyric felt like a secret.
The bass dropped.
The courtyard erupted.
Feet pounded the earth.
Hands lifted to the sky.
The drums answered with fire.
Amara laughed — a soft, breathless sound — as the energy surged through her. She felt alive in a way she hadn’t felt in months, as if the music was stitching her back together with every beat.
The man spun her gently, and for a moment the world slowed. Lanterns glowed brighter. The air shimmered. The vocals whispered like a promise:
Move with me…
Stay with me…
Breathe with me…
Amara opened her eyes.
The night wasn’t just beautiful — it was hers.
And as the rhythm carried her into the early hours, she realised something simple and true:
Some songs don’t just make you dance.
They make you remember who you are.
