MTG searched the jungles across the Globe and these master Monkeys is what we found.  First off is Quadrat Beat from Latvia.  Quadrat Beat gives us 11 tracks in under 15 min... Whaaaaaaaat? Meanwhile scores of people stood around in the darkened gallery straining to hear every word of the amazing poetry reading as I wandered from group to group, facing them and facing away from the stage, urging them to glug a slug from the jug, or wandered back and sat on the right side of the stage giving out little wows and yesses of approval and even whole sentences of comment with nobody's invitation but in the general gaiety nobody's disapproval either. It was a great night. Delicate Francis DaPavia read, from delicate onionskin, yellow pages, or pink, which he kept flipping carefully with long white fingers, the poems of bis dead chum Altman who'd eaten too much peyote in Chihuahua (or died of polio, one) but read none of his own poems—a charming elegy in itself to the memory of the dead young poet, enough to draw tears from the Cervantes of Chapter Seven, and read them in a delicate Englishy voice that had me crying with inside laughter though I later got to know Francis and liked him.

The Armory Podcast has been woefully short on female artists, an oversight we intend to correct beginning with this week’s special guest. In her hometown of Orlando and across North America they call her “The Bass Queen”. She's an accomplished DJ and producer and runs her own label, “Bad Baby”. She is the talented and lovely, Baby Anne, and we’re thrilled to have her in The Armory this week. Now Press play. And get down!

Baby Anne aka "The Bass Queen" has blazed a Trail across North America and Beyond with her DJ sets and Original Productions. Her signature recipe is a delicious fusion of high energy Electro Breaks and Miami Bass seasoned with funky beats and driving bass lines. Her musical influences range from Miami Bass stalwarts Dynamix II and AfroRican, to overseas tunes by Kraftwerk & 808 State, from statesides DJ Icey and Information Society to a host of Funky Freestyle records from back in the day!

Baby Anne is known not only as a DJ but also a recording artist, having dropped loads of tracks on her own Bad Baby record label and DJ Icey's Zone Records Imprint as well as other labels. Her latest single "Baby Vicious", on Bad Baby is rocking dance floors across the country. Baby Anne has pounded out 14 Mix Cds, all of which have charted on the Billboard Soundscan Electronic Top 50 album chart from 1999's "BassQueen in the Mix" to last year's  release, "Beauty of The Beats".   Baby Anne is currently on tour promoting her latest CD release, "Disturbing the Beats".

When Ultra/RCA/Sony asked me to do this I knew Wuki had to be my wingman. I've loved all the music Wuki has been making & I knew that together we could come up with something next level. After a trip to Denver to work in the Wuki-lair & methodical precision revisions, I believe that we certainly have.

Working with the original recording session of Elvis is nothing short of a psychedelic experience. Hearing his vocals by themselves was a window into how incredible of a singer he truly was.

We decided to take this in down to a low-slung groove that is reminiscent of Parliament/Funkadelic or Talking Heads & since this was originally recorded in 1973 at Stax Studios in Memphis with the incredible sessions players hired there at the time, I could hear the potential for the transformation we inevitably took this through.

This is the first time anyone has heard this so enjoy!

He Is The Voice I Hear’ is my first all new work since “Lady Of Sorrows.” It’s been a long journey from there to here. I’m so thrilled to continue the story and finally realize my dream of bringing together an ensemble of live musicians.

This record was a joy to create with my engineering and production partner, Rupert Murray, Davide Rossi on strings and Christoforo LaBarbera on keys. The vinyl was mastered and cut by Tim Xavier for Manmade Mastering.  We’ve also put some special touches into the design of the record itself. 

Incredible thanks to Adam Rowe, Andrew Gordon, Jake Nelson and everyone that helped make this record possible at all.
