Hofmeyr wrote this setting of the words “Dear Lord Jesus, grant them rest”  from the Requiem mass on the day his beloved piano teacher and mentor, Laura Searle, passed away. It was first performed at her funeral.

A set of 11 original piano nocturnes by pianist composer, Phil Best. 

Nocturnes are dark, melancholic virtual love songs full of pathos and longing. Each one feels like an intimate soliloquy about unrequited love, heartbreak and desire.

Inspired by Chopin's masterpieces of this genre, Phil explores a more contemporary approach, mixing in jazz, blues, pop and filmic elements.

Welcome to Lisa's Listenings! Here you will find surprising live concert recordings by Dutch violinist Lisa Jacobs.

Dutch violin virtuoso Lisa Jacobs started playing the violin at the age of 6. At the age of only 17 she made her successful debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under the baton of Riccardo Chailly and has played several times in all the major concert halls of the Netherlands and all around the world ever since, both as a soloist with renowned orchestras and conductors, as a recitalist with her pianist Ksenia Kouzmenko and at chamber music festivals, always to highly critical acclaim, receiving brilliant reviews and finding ecstatic audiences.

Lisa has graduated cum laude at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, with the highest distinction for both her bachelor in 2006 and masterstudies in 2009, at which occasion the jury spoke that they 'were short on superlatives to praise her superb playing'.

Lisa Jacobs plays a Rugieri violin from 1683, given to her on loan by a private person for which she is very grateful.
