So pleased to finally release this.  Bill wrote this poignant heartfelt prose on the folly of Whaling,  a subject close to many people's hearts including mine. He offers tale of an oil spill and 13 whales who make an ultimate sacrifice to save the day. I added instrumental to the tale and we both took turns to narrate. Around 35,000  –  whales killed since the 1986 international moratorium on commercial whaling came into effect.
130 – number of western north Pacific gray whales in existence. Only around 30 are females of breeding age, making this one of the world’s most endangered whale species.
330,000 – blue whales killed in the Southern Ocean before the ban on commercial whaling. Today, there are thought to be only 2,300 blue whales left in the whole Southern Hemisphere.

Throwing Stones

An attempt to interpret a feeling experienced in a certain place.  To carry that feeling home to my studio and capture it.  
Sindy (my dog) told me (in woofs) I am actually experiencing pure joy, of which she is apparently an aficionado.  I was then told to "snap out of it throw the damn ball you soppy human."

This is for my Dad.  For his love of diving.  He said the song took his breath away, he was drifting along in his mind, just above the Kelp beds off the shore of Oban, at peace with the world. Rest in peace now, wherever you are, and know you were loved, very much.

Started off as an earworm yesterday, so I recorded it last night.  Probs obsessed with it atm because its Easter Sunday and I got me some old time religion feels.  Love the Son House version best even though original was by Blind Willie Johnson.  Blues and gospel is a magical genre.

This is a tribute to my all time musical heroine Kate Bush.
I imagined her wafting about in space when I wrote it!!

It is one of the first songs I wrote.  I liked the original version, but I wanted to give it a bigger sound, with more melodies, harmonies and soundscapes.

This track has been a real labour of love!  I wrote the lyrics in my favourite wood on the edge of Dartmoor, to a stunning instrumental track sent to me by the incredibly talented Wane of Summer! I had a short version of these vocals for an edm track I made earlier this year but I wanted to see if I could make a full verse chorus arrangement with my good pal Wane of Summer.  He rose to the occasion as always and has produced an utterly spellbinding arrangement out of nowhere, he tends to do this, because he's so incredibly talented!!!! Sander thought he'd like to remix my Syrian song and I was really curious to hear his take on it.  He came up with a beautiful ending to the track, that I just sang along to, taking the story on to a sad end that wasn't in the original. We wanted to create a track about the recent voyage taken by the Cassini probe and its final descent into Saturn's rings. So much was learnt from its images in its near 20 year journey though our solar system and I'd like to dedicate this song to the Cassini team at NASA (just in case they listen on Soundcloud, lol). BBC Introducing Merseyside played this track on their show recently.  It's a song about true love on the open road - finding the courage to follow your dreams.  I wanted to capture the Easy Rider, Girl on a Motorbike vibe of the 60s, as I love motorbikes and miss riding them a lot. I was so pleased that my friend Bill wanted to tell the story with me, in his own words and style. Really great to finally release this track which evolved into a complicated prog rock beast as we wanted to create a Tool vibe… we hope we achieved it. Lyrics are based on my own battles with inner demons linked with Jungian psychology exploring the id or shadow.
