I wrote this song on September 12, 2002. I wasn't able to write anything about 9/11 until then. This is what happened when I finally felt ready.

There’s a line in the sand, where the journey once began
To tell the glory of the story of a long time ago.
And I will never understand all the wars in all the lands
There’s a point of no return and you’d think by now we’d learned.
There are people in power causing battles by the hour
And they live up in a big house in Washington
And they tell us it’s for freedom and that we should stand behind them. 
But how can I believe them, who’s the killer now?

Chorus……
Where is the truth, the responsibility
Isn’t anyone accountable 
to you and me, the citizens, of this democracy
What will it take to make up for the past with the future at stake

I don’t want to believe everything they say’s a lie
I don’t want to believe that any more will die
But I have seen the news one too many times
Wish that I could understand the reasons for the crimes.
And I beg of them to stop telling all these lies
While they live in their glass houses we lose innocent lives
Haven’t we learned from the past that war will not cause peace
All that I ask is when will the killing cease?

I don’t know if there’s a god but I find myself at odds
With all that put their faith in him, some may think my way’s a sin
But all the fighting, all the war, why would god want that for
All his children in the land fighting in a box of sand

I wrote this song in 1994 after visiting the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC.

A song inspired by the movie, The Life of Pi, and written in honor of the victims and survivors of the Boston marathon bombing. When I wrote it, I could "hear" it being recorded by Peter Gabriel or U2 with Daniel Lanois producing. Hey, a gal can dream, right? Lyrics below.....

I wrote this song at the home of Sonny Ochs. The rest of the gang wanted to take a walk, and all I wanted to do was to sit by the beautiful stream with my guitar. This is the result of that.

Morning Light

When the relationship doesn't work out and you have to say goodbye to the love of your life, sometimes you write a song about it.
