Growing up a classical pianist, he decided to home-school himself into the realms of jazz, funk, and blues to become aligned with his musical taste today.

The influence of his deep love for the jazz-funk days of the 70s shines on through, in this bluesy slow-groover.

London-based Mike Misiu has had a handful of stellar yet secret releases under his belt, and now this squirrel is finally getting his nut with his RNT debut! The A side launches into a churning and chugging rendition of a Donald Byrd 70’s jazz soul classic, followed by a cheekily infectious treatment of well-loved modern themes, while the flip kicks into high gear with two uptempo soulful stompers.

Misiu - Black Magic

Born in 1993, Ethyène started producing at the age of 16 and became resident dj for the hip-hop collective Artjacking France the same year. 
Shaped by digging the whole different sounds of black music, Ethyène's productions reflect a mature, well influenced but always very personal approach of House Music.
The young producer's career took on a new lease of life with the co-founding of the record label Moonrise Hill Material in 2015 alongside Folamour, Kaffe Crème & St Paul and a bunch of new releases on some cool imprints such as Roots For Bloom, Kolour LTD, Better Listen and more ...

Working Class Anthems, his 6th solo EP in 2 years complete a whole series of grooves, sampling a high range of music genres from Library to 90's R&B witnessing Ethyène's daily digging & producing habits.

Parisian Disco surgeon Chevals is back in action with a fresh 10” on Kolour LTD. The release marks the producer’s third outing, and curiously, all of the mysterious horseman’s records thus far have been with American imprints. After sell-out drops on Homage and Better Listen, Chevals moves his magic to the longer-tenured KLRLTD for the 9th entry in their 10” series. 

Our premiere comes via the A-side in “I Can Prove It”. It’s a midtempo, loopy disco gem that sits perfectly in Kolour’s established soundscape. The chopped vocal sample builds in via clever filtering and phrasing before unleashing into epic fullness, accompanied by a chorus of strings and horns and all. Of course, like on all of the Frenchman’s productions, the drums just straight-up bang. Also, the flipside hosts a very very nifty Philly disco edit, but we’ll leave the details of that for another outlet.
