Waves Of Healing

This is a “quiet recording” from nature reserve Flói in the southwest of Iceland.
This recording contains many local birds and migrants. Birds as Red- necked Phalarope, Arctic stern, Red throated diver, Black tailed Goldwit, Common Snipe, Golden Plover, Whimbrel, Eurasian Oystercatcher and many other birds are in this recording. Noisiest and probably "ugliest sound" in this recording is the Red throated diver´s territorial call, but they also express in the recording a beautiful calm conversation with their eyes.
Background noise is coming from the surf among the south cost.
The recording was made in 26th of June 2012 around 3 am and is just nine minutes of ten hours recording that day. The weather was calm, clear sky and temperature around 5°C.
This is a very quiet nature recording so you should not play it loud. If you stay there you can barely hear this birdsong or this bird activity with open ears. You should play it like you think you will hear it trough open window, as a background sound. Best way to listen to all the details and explore the bird species is using quality headphones. This recording contains also very loud session when all Red throated divers in the area “scream” their territorial call.

Although it is close to Sydney, Wollemi National Park protects an area of wilderness which is relatively unexplored. This is an early morning recording on a warm summer day.

An excerpt from a dawn chorus recorded recently in the Sturt desert, Australia. 

Eremophilas were flowering, and this had attracted numerous honeyeaters, among them white-fronted honeyeaters. These birds have a 'pinball wizard' dawn song, with chimes, percussive twangs and ricochets of rapid 'tch, tch, tch's.  This is the moment when a second bird joins in with a first, creating a rhythmic countersong that alternates between the stereo channels. 

A spiney-cheeked honeyeater sings tonally in the centre, while magpies, red-capped robins and variegated fairy wrens are more in the background. Red kangaroos can be heard huffing occasionally in the distance.

Honeyeater dawn chorus, Sturt Desert, Australia

Botánica de Balcón (balcony botanics in Spanish) is the crystallisation of a long shot project by Rafa Ramos Sania and Edu Comelles. Both musicians put together strings, wood and minimal electronics on a new project born from field recordings and sonic textures. The aim is to submerge form that starting premise into sonic territories closer to New Classic, a certain experimental folk and the shredded expressiveness of the double bass, comfortably sitting on eastern tonalities and subtle winks or the Japanese Shakuhachi. Digital and tensed string songs.
