The catchy melody of an icelandic and the cheerless music of an italian, the sunny side of a hazy country and the greyness of a bright one, the warm chords of the north and the algid computer music of the south.
Balmy arpeggiators, frozen guitars, harmonic noises and retro beats mixed up in a quite original sonic result.
Started as an “indietronic electro acoustic ambient emotional instrumental” project, Plastik Joy begun involving all the influences and the new music ideas of the two members. The result being a simple big container of Fannar’s and Cristiano’s own musical language.
A constant evolution that still has its defined character and sound.


In 2009 Plastik Joy's released the debut album 3:03 that emits a definitive nocturnal quality, straddles moods and styles with great finesse leading you down for a few moments before you are emotionally lifted up again by a passing melodic element. Walking such a fine line in their emotional creativity makes it hard to believe these guys never plan their attack; they just go where the song takes them. Coke Machine Glow said of 3:03 "I don’t think I could sense anything more sunny or meditative than this happy bundle of pain. " Others have named checked Dntel, Telefon Tel Aviv, and Four Tet as stylistic signposts for Plastik Joy. Listening to the new material and the live show, we could add some of the representative artists of the glo-fi movement.


In spite of the ambient dreamy atmospheres of the first album, the new material and live show are quite energetic and intense mixing the old melodies and soundscapes with powerful beats and a more intensive use of synthesizer.


Dropa’s style would best be described as a mix of chillwave, indietronic and darkwave. The duo out of Portland Oregon have just finished their third release “The Hours till Daylight”  A double album which originated from Micah doing the soundtrack for an indie film by Jon Garcia, and is due out  this next year. THTD is The follow up from their 2nd release Glass House which received much critical praise. Dropa’s first CD “A Well Orchestrated Plan” has a thick array of synths and layered beats with a more shoegaze experimental sound. With Glass House, Dropa has evolved their sound into a more directed, structural, intentional approach. Meticulously crafting eclectic arrangements bringing a retro vibe melded with modern influences. Sound comparisons to David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, M83, Dropa mixes and blends a plethora of electronic genres, which makes it difficult for the listener to categorize. Playing many shows and festivals in Portland the past few years including shows at Doug Fir, Crystal Ballroom, Alberta Street Fair and the Rose Festival, Dropa has been keeping busy between recording and performing.  KINK FM featured two tracks off of their debut album “A well orchestrated plan” released in 2009, OPB Radio, 94.7 KNRK and KZME 107.1 are also airing their tracks.

           Dropa is the brainchild of Micah Tamblyn who comes from a long line of entertainers and performers.  For Glass House he brought in the talents of drummer Matthew Higgins who has mastered many genre’s including Jazz Latin and rock. Dropa occasionally has players sit in for their live performances which expand the sonic, ethereal experience for the stage. Dropa’s melodies will consume your mind and will leave you dreaming.

The video was banned from MTV for showing chocolate labeled “ecstasy” after our live show in Berlin´s MTV studios. Heavy loads of equipment. 300 cables plugged in for every show. The pulse of indietronic rap house mashup. Pure impro, stoned. Jojo Effect played three keyboards at once, a complete, multisound harmonic section, funky Hammond, trippy moog sounds and bleeps, Fels kickass rocking on bass. I spinned the beats and was handy at the mike. I loved it. 4 hour shows, surrounded by friends, hot, longing chicks and cool drinks. --- Robert Defcon

Hidden away under the white, icy layers that make up the Buenos Aires & Berlin music scene, the igloo-rec label is melting bodies, hearts and souls with its warm, organic and eclectic sounds. In its core essence utterly experimental and incalculable, the output created by its international artist family ranges from glitchy, weird experimental IDM and raging minimal to dream-poppy indietronic songs. Almost always sounding outright electronic and vanguardist, all the artists tiptoe elegantly around any possible cliché trap and cooky classification, making the igloo a very special place to turn on, tune in and drop out in...

This might be down to the futuristic vision of label founder Dilo, the well-known Buenos Aires and Berlin-based DJ and producer: Embracing the internet as a promotion tool, Igloo, launched in 2005, was created to be a net and digital label the from day one (with most of its output released under the Creative Commons License), placing Argentina at the forefront of things. Fusing new technologies with a strong visual and aural identity, the emerging local currents managed to have global impact immediately, and Igloo quickly became one of the hottest hotbeds for new and upcoming artists from all around the globe, shaping the local scene as well as giving an outlook on international future tendencies.
