Ian Daniels returns with Lightwaves EP, a deep and immersive journey through warm, dreamy, and timeless electronic soundscapes. Released on the obscure underground label Modern Nostalgia, this four-track EP showcases Daniels' signature blend of deep house, broken beat, and ambient textures-rooted in a rich history of underground electronic music stretching back to the early 2000s.

The title track, Lightwaves, sets the tone with uplifting, Detroit-influenced deep house grooves, while Space Age takes listeners on a trippy, techy, and chunky sonic excursion. Bump The Tempo shifts gears into an atmospheric broken beat territory, carrying a timeless quality that defines much of Daniels' work. Closing the EP, Astral Projection drifts into an ambient dreamscape, offering a laid-back and introspective finale.

Hailing from Saint Petersburg, Gradient is a true dub techno purist, known for his deep, minimalistic approach and meticulous sound design. 

His remix of Primitive Instinct is a mesmerizing journey, where modulated chords and atmospheric stabs intertwine to create a hypnotic flow. Subtle yet powerful, his interpretation showcases the essence of dub techno at its finest—pure, immersive, and deeply meditative.

For this release, REFRACTION proudly welcomes Berlin-based producer & DJ Fletcher for his label debut. Known for his refined touch in electronic music, Fletcher brings a fresh perspective to Unintended Similarities. 

His remix smooths out the original’s serious and introspective tone, reshaping it into an elegant, laid-back deep house experience. With warm grooves, fluid textures, and a sophisticated rhythm, this version invites listeners into a more relaxed yet equally captivating soundscape.

Closing the release, Copenhagen duo Merv deliver a powerful rework of Blur, staying true to its core essence while pushing the intensity even further. This is the world of "Subterranean Oracle," a place where the air itself thrums with a low, electric hum—a constant, driving beat that is the planet's own techno heartbeat. 🤖 The figure, cloaked in heavy, dark robes that fall like stone, is a vessel of secrets. Its face is a smooth, featureless void, a blank canvas onto which we project our own anxieties and hopes for what is to come. Is it a priest of a new technological age? An AI entity that has shed its need for human features? Or the last organic being in a world of machines? The ambiguity is the source of its power, a silent prophet in a deafeningly loud world. ⛓️

The environment is a cathedral of industry, a dystopian marvel. Rows of spherical machines, like dormant metallic eyes or gargantuan eggs waiting to hatch, line the tunnel. They are interconnected by a chaotic yet purposeful web of thick black cables, arteries pumping data and raw energy through this subterranean network. 💡 The ground is dust and grit, the only remnant of a natural world long since paved over and forgotten. The sepia-toned light is dim, suggesting a source that is neither sun nor moon, but the cold, artificial glow of the machinery itself. This is the visual landscape that our music inhabits; each track is a step deeper into this tunnel, a new revelation from the oracle. The driving 4/4 kick drums are the relentless march of progress, the raw, distorted basslines are the groans of stressed metal, and the hypnotic, looping synths are the coded messages humming through the wires. 👁️‍🗨️
