2004 INDIAN SUMMER MUSIC AWARDS WINNER - "BEST RAP/HIP HOP ALBUM" This album was created right after the controversial and irresponsible Native American stereotype riddled 2004 Grammy Award performance by Outkast’s, Andre Benjamin. The performance by Benjamin pushed the blatant mainstream disrespect leveled at Native Americans into Hip Hop. Litefoot takes the issue head on by crafting an album that leaves no room for confusion to his position regarding the ongoing stereotyping and mistreatment of Native Americans. Litefoot pulls no punches and levels his aim at even those in his own community, who are more part of the problem, than part of the solution. His lyrical approach causes the listener to better understand the issues, by offering a "walk a mile in my shoes" approach. Litefoot also offers solutions as to how he feels all people can "get beyond" these kinds of problems. The listener is left with a better understanding of the hypocritical stances taken by other hip hop artists, mainstream society and even the most avid supporters of basic civil liberties.
