A Bulgarian born, Stefan Koev came to USA some 12 years ago. Until then he hadn’t had a chance to meet Electronica. Until one day at work when a beloved friend and coworker put a CD into the player and simply said:
 “JustLISTEN!”
 It was Global Underground CD 006: Paul Oakenfold - NY.
 From the very first beat an instantaneous, unconditional love filled Stefan’s heart and his journey into Electronic Music began.
Through the years, styles and nuances, the love grew larger and larger to the point where next step was to start playing and mixing music. Stefan bought his first piece of equipment, a Hercules RMX Console and with the free software provided spent countless nights discovering the wonders of creating new sound… It was the most complete feeling, it was emotions and feelings inexpressible by any other means but by smiles and music. It was no longer just listening, it was - as Steinbeck calls it - the ‘indescribable joy of creation’… It was the Ultimate pleasure.
Koev becomes well known in Boston’s night scene with a lightning speed. Starting with private house parties and side rooms in Felt and Estate, in less than two months he headlines UNDERBAR, one of the biggest venues for international and guest DJs.
Stefan’s style narrows into Progressive and, often enhanced with folk and vocal elements, becomes rich in ethnic flavor. His love for underground can be felt implemented in many of his mixes,too.

Today Stefan lives in Chicago with his soul-mate Desi Gigenska, who is, too, into Electronic scene and faithfully attends all quality Dj events and fests.
Ableton and Logic classes follow next for both. Desi's other big love are her SL-1210 MK2's and her vast and rare vinyl collection.
If you wonder where Stefan and Desi are on a night with a famous DJ is visiting town, look no further than the booth in that club…They soak every move, every beat, every technique...
 
Stefan is constantly dancing. Music going through his body and his mind, in those moments of exaltation very little else matters… Stefan breathesMusic. As the acclaimed music critic and reporter Deedee Mignone would exclaim,

With an eclectic variety of projects to date, R7 has made quite a recognizable impact in electronic music. There are few genres the songwriting/vocalist duo have yet to attack with their production and remix work, sometimes pulling in outside vocalists to keep the sound fresh and experimenting with new ideas for cross genre platforms. An eccentric blend of elements combine in their original works for an unmistakable style. Their preference for big chords and melodic elements drive their belief in the power of songwriting to convey emotion as opposed to simply creating a beat.

Having established a worldwide following with releases in the US, Sweden, U.K. and Brazil, R7 are based in Austin, TX, USA. “Make Me Feel” was featured on the soundtrack for “MAY in the SUMMER,” the premier film at Sundance Film Festival 2013.
