November Rain

This is Little Bark’s ode to the famous crystal ball scene in the mega 1980’s movie LABYRINTH. It’s the final track on her sophomore album, USB, which has been getting a huge amount of love from The Herald, Under the Radar, The Dominion Post, Chartshaker, etc. 

2014 was MASSIVE for Little Bark (Sophie Burbery)- she became a featured artist for the 2014 Becks New Zealand Music Project, showcased as part of the Going Global Seminar and played in New York. 

USB was co-produced with long-term collaborator Stef Animal (The Golden Awesome, Mestar) and laid out like a film soundtrack, similar to that of Cliff Martinez’s Drive, inclusive of a synth pop theme and interspersed with clear-cut melodies.

Little Bark aka Sophie Burbery is in love with synthesizers, electronic beats, melodic hooks and gnarley guitars. She directs, writes and produces everything herself, aligning with a different co-producer for every project. Born and bred in New Zealand (spending most of her time in Wellington until she moved to Auckland in 2013) she’s been compared to Kate Bush, Pet Shop Boys, Lykke Li to name a few. Her songwriting is full of vivid imagery and strange happenstances.

Burbery’s sophomore album, USB, (Unique Sonic Broadcast) is co-produced with Stef Animal (The Golden Awesome, Mestar), the synth-based album is laid out like a film soundtrack with a mixture of synth pop songs interspersed with lush instrumentals.
