HOLY GRAIL ALERT!!! Following on 2021’s massive reboot of Midnight Magic’s seminal classic Beam Me Up, Razor-N-Tape have now unearthed a bit of NYC indie disco history with “I Found Love”, which the band co-produced with Tommie Sunshine.

Although recorded over 10 years ago in Midnight Magic’s nascent early period that produced many of their legendary hits, the song never received an official release; until now it has been heard only by select ears and lucky concert-goers.  The package comes with a grip of luminous remixes by Dimitri From Paris & DJ Rocca, Sophie Lloyd, Perel and Derrick Carter, some solicited at the time of recording and some brand new, but all exceptionally fresh!

Here are some words about the song by the band:

"I Found Love" was recorded in a fever on the heels of releasing "Beam Me Up." New York dance music wizard Tommie Sunshine approached us about a co-write saying we should go as big as possible. So we did--it is one of our all time favorite vocal performances from our singer, Tiffany Roth. We had big plans, too, for a release but nothing quite felt right until meeting the Razor N Tape crew almost a decade later. Finally the stage is set, the lights are on, and we're ready. This song is very special to us because it is the last un-released recording featuring our late bandmate Jason Disu. This release is dedicated to him and his family.

There is a certain innocence to be found in Theo Kottis' music. And there is also one hell of a positive vibe flowing through his tracks making listening - and of course dancing - a pure pleasure. It's no wonder that the London based DJ & producer from Edinburgh who runs his own label BEAUTIFUL STRANGERS is playing regularly at places like Berghain’s Panorama Bar, Glasgow’s Sub Club or Edinburgh’s Cab Vol. 

This innocence and positivity can be found in Theo's first outing for LIVE AT ROBERT JOHNSON as well. Let's start with the first track and the first day of the week: »Monday Monday«. Uptempo, uplifting and not upsetting dancers with a mighty bass drum and this typical 90ies organ sound made famous through a lot of house tunes of said decade.

»Slow Times« is indeed a bit slower than »Monday Monday« but a lashing hi-hat, frenetic keyboard stabs and some mighty drum and bass action make up for tempo as Theo truly creates a monster here. We guarantee you definitely WON'T have a slow time on the dancefloor with this one.

»Swing« again features lots of 90ies reminiscences, yet in a very subtle and gentle way. Sure it swings, but though taking a »softer« approach this track succeeds in getting our attention - it's perfect for the early morning hours as well as for warming up a long long night.

With last track »Wisdom« Theo explores a more darker universe. It's heady vibe gives food for thought - and food for feet - because of course you can strut on the floor to »Wisdom« as much as you can while listening to the other tunes. Well done Theo!

Portuguese producer Trikk and Dutch producer Collé remix ‘Summer & Smoke’; one of the standout singles from Cubicolor's latest album 'Sometime Not Now'.

Trikk, who has previously released on Innervisions, Lossless and Music Optima, draws on his diverse musical influences from his two homes of Porto and Mozambique, as well as the musical melting pots of Berlin and London, to create a memorable remix characterised by an extremely catchy lead synth.

Dutch DJ and producer Randy Collé is no stranger to the electronic music scene, having received a great deal of support from acts such as Solomun, Âme and Black Coffee. His remix, which has already been supported by 8Kays in her Afterlife set in Tulum, is designed for the dancefloor and has some epic and emotional moments.

Samantha Loveridge is a woman of many talents with a deep passion for all things music. As bassist for dance-punk outfit The Rapture, Mattie Safer cut his teeth in the music scene alongside a wave of now-legendary early 2000s NYC acts like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem and more (a time period recently immortalized in the documentary film ‘Meet Me In The Bathroom.’) Fast-forward nearly 2 decades and Mattie has found the sweeter side of dance music as the current lead vocalist for slo-mo kings Poolside, and now he presents his solo lovetempo project on Razor-N-Tape.

RNT regular Yuksek does what he does best, and takes the most uplifting tune of the pack into positively joyous hands-in-the-air territory with a stunning remix. Keinemusik’s Reznik links with his longtime collaborator Good Guy Mikesh as they take The One straight to the club with a synthetic shifter of a remix offering distinct dancefloor moments. Nick Catchdubs turns on the E-funk with his take on Turnaround.

'For twenty years, Dynarec has been pushing the boundaries of electro on some of the best known labels. Little will his listeners know, there is another side to this prolific French producer’s machines. Speakwave is a lesser known, and heard, moniker of this analogue artist and the debut vinyl release of this nom de plume is set for release on Bordello A Parigi. Fans of the Dynarec sound are treated to the same wonderous compositions and melodic structures with something else added. “Cartographic Venture” is a ten minute introduction to this new style. Crisp drum patterns support cold flourishes and stabbing synthlines before distant vocals arrive. The track balances the frostier edges of electronics and wave to create a lonesome and longing synth pop ballad. “Coming On Monday” has a different energy. The pop element of the predecessor remains, lyrics are vocoder dipped while confident key shifts are countered by strong rhythm patterns. The closer, like the 12”, defies definition. Burbling notes and sharp snares give an edge to “Exposition To Revolution”, but there is also a more inviting nurturing side coming through in the spiralling skyward melody. A release that shows another fascinating side of this multifaceted musician.'

We make a return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's vibrant deep-house scene as we are delighted to welcome DJ, producer and label boss, Baloo to the platform for hour 2 of the show.

Alongside a release on Aterral, he also delivered a 2-track collaboration with Carlo as part of the debut release on his own Gabu Records imprint, and has graced the decks alongside the likes of Black Loops and Dyed Soundorom, as well as the legendary Louie Vega at destinations from Ibiza, to the Carribean and beyond. 

Taking us on a journey through the deep, Baloo captures and holds the vibe perfectly with a bumpy set that ebbs and flows from disco-kissed samples, through to minimal beats and melodic flavours.

Bahrain-born artist, Soundscapes co-founder and music curator Hameed recorded a set at the infamous Shelter Amsterdam, extracted from a special night with beloved friends and selectors Andrey Pushkarev and SIT last February.

Dedicated to showcasing the best of the underground, Hameed and his partners worked on combining world-class global talent with the finest operators of the MENA region for a highly anticipated 3rd edition set against the backdrop of Zanzibari Paradise happening in just 2 weeks. 

What started as an intimate gathering has since blossomed into a movement that celebrates music. The island hotspot delivers a 4-day celebration on the beach from June 28 - July 2, featuring Soundscapes mainstays and bringing together the top Saudi and Beirut artists of the moment.
