Seems appropriate to post this now, since it was Larry's birthday yesterday. This set was from a few week back when the guys from Levan in Peckham came over to Spiritland at the RFH for an evening of stellar food and music (ahem). This is my set of Garage classics from that night. Enjoy!

This mix was originally recorded for a friends podcast with a concept of 1 hour carte blanche deep dive into the crates transitioning into club for the remaining 30 min that I decided to use as a part of my creative process instead. There is some sampling in there from The Last Poets, Twin Cosmos, a track by falsetto master Philip Bailey from the soundtrack of The Clockers, Gil Scott Heron, Leslie Winer and a track by my buddy Chuwee.

Jordan’s schedule includes stops in New York, Tokyo, Ibiza and London, but his reputation has been built on almost two decades of relentless work closer to home. As resident and promoter at Belfast’s weekly party, The Night Institute, and before that as a curator of the city’s not-quite-legal,late-night parties, Jordan has played many roles within his local scene, alongside countless hours behind the decks. This has afforded him a legitimacy that is becoming a rarity in the electronic music community, placing him at odds with the common thirst for overnight success stories.

"I've crammed in some of the energy of my Summer into this hour. The first half is a slower tempo, inspired by my debut at Pikes and the early part of the night at our parties at The Hack Club in Belfast. The second half, I take things in a more energetic direction with highlights from my Fabric set earlier in July, as well as some previews of my forthcoming releases on Permanent Vacation and Polari."

The imprint has been establishing a solid ground for the new Frankfurt sound since 2009. Laid-back dance-floor awareness with a sense for particularity in sound is what might describe best most of the releases and artists.
