A foray to where the »Hauki« lives and catches his prey - what a lovely yet dangerous tune. »Book Of Alex« is more on the dreamy side of house music whereas »Manhattan« evokes car rides through a rainy New York night. But it doesn't take long until the »Sunrise In Mellenhof« - a very trippy sunrise that is. But Sasse wouldn't be Sasse if he wouldn't be able to throw in a downbeat tune like »JP-4« to surprise you, the loyal listener. Now all you gotta do is listen. Listen deep.

Erwin is a Berlin-based producer and DJ, formerly known as Florian Rietze. His music moves between hypnotic grooves and subtle atmospheres. Sometimes driving, sometimes introspective, always with a keen sense for tension and depth. With Arepas Records, he now launches his own label, kicking things off with the debut release Arepas 001, a statement for carefully crafted and detail-driven electronic music.

To mark the start, Erwin visited our pressing plant at MATTER OF FACT, where he sat down with our head of operations, Andre Kronert, to talk about his motivation for starting a label, his love for vinyl as a physical medium, and his vision of making Arepas a platform for artistic freedom and curated sound. We’ll celebrate this new chapter together on October 8th with the official Label Launch Party at Elevate, Cinthie’s record store in the heart of Berlin-Friedrichshain, where music, community, and the idea behind Arepas Records truly come to life.

They sailed beyond the infinite sky, Where Mari Galante’s beauties lie,
Through heat and rain and humid air, They combed the island everywhere.

“Oh Mamman Brigitte!” came their cry, “We’ve brought you frogs that never die!
They sing at night, they sing at noon, They sing beneath the heavy moon!”

But she just laughed a laugh so wide, And vanished with the turning tide,
And left the Bros to stand and stare, At sea and sky and humid air.

Now Hardway Bros play cards with frogs, And sleep on very uncomfortable logs,
While somewhere near the outre-mer, Mamman Brigitte is drinking beer.
