The legend himself was supposed to play at Rilindja Warehouse XVIII last year, before the pandemic was about to halt all activities in throughout the globe, aswell as ours. Today, as a glimpse of hope has started shimmering upon humanity again, we decided that the 30th podcast should come from non other than @inigokennedy, who hopefully will soon be here to tend to unfinished business, that of oscillating the dancefloor. It’s an honour to welcome Reka Zalan to the podcast series. Reka is a Berlin-based Techno DJ and promoter, resident at the infamous ://about blank club where she’s furthermore part of the booking team as well as being responsible for co-organizing the ://elements series. 

Reka’s sound can best be described as a palpable blend of cosmic and driving Techno which she pulls off with precision, luring her listeners further down the rabbit hole.

In her everyday life, Reka works at Hard Wax, a multi-faceted job that functions as the glue to what she’s so passionate about: deepening her interest in & beyond techno while impacting the experience of like-minded people for the better.

VOLTAGE Podcast 17 - Reka Zalan

Reka Zalan is a Berlin-based Techno DJ and promoter, co-hosting the ://elements series at ://about blank, where she’s resident and part of the booking team. 

Her activities in the local music and club culture scene also include working at Hard Wax, one of Berlin's essential record store addresses. 

Reka's sound is a palpable blend of cosmic and driving Techno, combining deep, gloomy vibes and trippy elements as well as percussion-heavy, groovy and tooly facets. Besides her passion for Techno realms, she loves various forms of (UK) Bass music, Electro (Wave) or experimental beatless soundscapes. 

She also plays under the moniker No Life Signal, a B2B duo with ://elements colleague and DJ fellow THNTS. Since early 2023 now, she's been a member of the local residents team of well-known Berlin Tresor club. 

Furthermore she's part of the Coppi collective, a project space with weekly community-based studio sessions in an off-location between Friedrichshain and Lichtenberg.

Reka Zalan from Berlin is proving that lucky number #007 ain't just a myth. She's an all-around force in the techno scene, straight-up everywhere. 

Her set starts off with some spacey vibes, ambient tunes, and drones. Right from the jump, you can feel the energy building, her musicality on point. The switch to those hypnotic beats? Seamless, man, it hooks you in.

Reka's tracks? Mostly deep and minimalist, but they keep pushing you deeper into the groove. She throws in some Psy and electro-infused tracks to switch it up. Towards the end, she cranks up the intensity before gracefully bringing it all back down with pure elegance.
