Born & Raised in Lawrence, MA. L5 is a respected and gifted young man who is self-taught in everything he does. Self-employed since 16 years old and currently running his own business (Higher Up Studios). L5 grew up with music all around him from being a kid watching his father and uncles play instruments for fun. He would jump on the piano any chance his father was not on it. L5 didn't start taking music serious until he was 14 years old, by then he was a freshman in high school. He met a guy who later became his best friend who had similar interest in music. Eventually they got into learning how to make beats so that they can rap and create their sound. His best friend excelled in rhyming an L5 excelled in producing. Together the chemistry was crazy. Later on in life, L5 continued to pursue his passion and began working with others. While working with other people, he found himself realizing that he would have to learn so much more about music. So he began to listen differently. He would study the greats such as Just Blaze, Swizz Beatz, Kanye West, 9th Wonder, Timbaland, J. Dilla and ect. L5 learned how to sample records in a way that you could recognize the sample until he told you. Seeing how people reacted to a dope beat, made him think, "This is the type of sh*t that makes me feel like I could be in the game and have rappers react to my beats the same way or better." L5 started making a buzz in the city and started collaborating with locals. He worked on mixtapes and also engineered songs. He later linked with Termanology in Lawrence and built a friendship. L5 worked on samples that Termanology had saved for later use. One of the beats was emailed to Sheek Louch from The Lox who immediately said, "Don't send this to no one else. I need this." Fast forward, a year and a half later Termanology and L5 made it on his album. Silverback Gorilla 2, track 8 titled "Obamacare" featuring Dyce Payne. After getting that placement, he knew that he would have many more placements in mind. Making them happen was the next step. With that being said L5 is building his website and brand. He has been networking with rappers, A&R's, Dj's and managers while trying to build his brand.
