Low-end basscapades, traditional horn lines and global soundplay all meet up with  the skank and stutter of dub reggae vibes for a mesmerizing entanglement with psychedelic sound design. Serpent Medicine bestows the power to transmute the self, to "shed the skin" of what no longer serves us and to fuse layers of our reality into wholeness.  Through the process of life we become fragmented, often letting parts of ourselves fall dormant as we deal with the necessities of survival.  When our "self" is fragmented, our power is fragmented and we may suffer from scattered thinking, lack of energy, poor timing or inability to move forward.  Even when the focus has been on spiritual grown or healing there are often aspects of the self which must be reintegrated to bring the whole self in alignment.   The mantra of the Serpent Medicine track here as vocalized by Amrita inspires movement to invoke your self to shed your skin and become whole again.

The healing power of the Mahamrityunjaya mantra is an a prayer to the ancient Hindu deities It is currently being chanted in the Satyananda ashrams and yoga centres throughout India and the world at the same time every week. People who are facing illness, obstacles, tragedy or crisis in their lives, and who cannot be physically present during the chanting, can give their names for inclusion in the chanting by phone or letter. Many people have been helped through difficult times in this way, even though they are not physically present, the power of the Mahamrityunjaya mantra is so great.

A project unlike any other comes to Desert Trax this fall. Between 2009 and 2012, psychedelic bass producer Twin Shape created but left unfinished three songs that tied him inextricably to a certain time and place. As the years went on, these pieces remained rough and untouched, until he sought the help of three fellow producers to help him complete these songs.
The result is the 'Auxiliatus' EP. From the Latin to support, Alterra, Shwamp , and COAM stepped in to give Twin Shape distance, perspective, and help to revisit these original creations and give them a contemporary feel on Seeded, D&N and Glimpse, respectively. Three tightly wound compositions that have spanned nearly a decade since their inception now come to life with throbbing low end and alien implications. A strong recommendation for fans of Bird of Prey, Phutureprimitive, and Ott.

Standout Desert Trax contributor Key-G steps in for a remix of the Alterra collab, Seeded, to round out this 4-track set. The Auxiliatus EP is finally available September 13th.
