Returning to the musical undergrowth first explored by Desert Dwellers and acclaimed mycologist Paul Stamets in summer 2020 in partnership with documentary film Fantastic Fungi, ‘One Giant Consciousness’ collects the sounds of six producers from the global electronica scene to echo the message of connection and renewal driving Stamets’ celebrated work as one of the pioneers of mycology research and advocacy in the 21st century. 

A shapeshifting journey through the deep grooves, soothing basslines, and mesmerizing atmospheres of psychedelic music, the collection ignites the doors of perception with an array of imaginative remixes from producers Hibernation, Nanosphere, Equanimous & Skysia, and Desert Trax artists Gumi and Tylepathy to evoke a sense of interconnection between nature, civilization, and the vast network of beings and visionaries lining the corridors of Earth’s history. 

Hitting on the emotive peaks and valleys engrained in Desert Dwellers’ iconic sound and accented with re-imaginings designed for a full spectrum of sensory environments, ‘One Giant Consciousness’ is a glimpse behind the veil that teases more collaborative work to come from Desert Dwellers, Paul Stamets, and Desert Trax’s mushrooming roster of creators from the modern visionary realm.

Living Light is the brainchild of Boston-based producer Eartha Harris. Incorporating elements of psychedelic and downtempo dub and uplifting global bass, her productions sweep listeners on intricate musical journeys aimed at enchanting and elevating the soul. She has toured extensively as both a solo artist and live band keyboardist, and has been a multi-faceted presence in the global festival scene for over a decade. Eartha’s most recent work features collaborations with Simon Posford (Shpongle), Gabriel Le Mar (The Saafi Brothers), and Chris Barker (Ott & The All-Seeing I), as well as a series of remixes with Kaya Project, Gaudi, Liquid Bloom, Globular, and numerous other producers from around the world.
Having graced the stages of events such as Shankra Festival (Switzerland), Envision Festival (Costa Rica), Cosmic Convergence (Guatemala), Tribal Gathering (Panama), Psy-Fi (Netherlands), Eclipse Festival (Canada), Sonic Bloom (CO), Oregon Eclipse (OR), Burning Man (NV), and Arise (CO), and with appearances on some of the world’s most esteemed psychedelic labels, including Desert Tax, Merkaba Music, Sofa Beats, and Liquid Sound Design, Eartha has developed a sound that transcends any singular locale and which offers listeners a truly global experience regardless of the ground on which they stand.
