     Murkem is a DJ/Producer from South Florida. Murkem was exposed to many different genres of music by his family along with class mates and neighborhood kids. His uncle was a musician and had a recording studio of his own. While visiting the studio as a kid, Murkem would turn knobs and tweak sounds while his uncle's band practiced. It was only a matter of time before Murkem would turn his passion for music into a profession.

     After becoming bored with mundane 9-5 jobs, Murkem started working at a local Guitar Center and quickly became a Pro Audio Manager. He learned a lot about industry standard gear and software that would pave the way for his journey in the music game. After that, Murkem opened In The Cut Studios and began producing for various artists. In The Cut Studios is a full production studio specializing in Media Arts. With a Rane Mixer and a pair of Technics Turntables, Murkem incorporated these tools into his production. After realizing how much fun djing was, he studied the roots and fell in love with the craft immediately. 

     Murkem sets the perfect vibe with song selection along with his clever blends. Whether Murkem is dropping Funk, Soul, 80’s, Breakbeats, Hip Hop, or Electronic Bangers, he is able to capture the dance floor and educate crowds with new records, remixes and mashups. His musical influences include: Earth Wind & Fire, KC & The Sunshine Band, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, The Offspring, Weezer, Nirvana, Mac Dre, Outkast, Slick Rick, NaS, KRS One, Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Flash, Jam Master Jay, Kool Herc, DJ QBert, Diplo, DJ Snake, Yellowclaw, A-Trak, DJ Craze, Drop The Lime, DJ Affect, DJ Iron Lyon, Mister Grey, DJ Konflict, Nick Flash, and many more.

Graduating with a degree in finance, JUST JAMES entered the corporate world shortly after school. Unfulfilled and unhappy, he decided to learn music production - something he had always wanted to do. With early success JUST JAMES left his corporate job for part time work to follow his passion seriously. 

Since his first release he has amassed over 2M streams and released on multiple labels - including Steve Aoki's "Dim Mak" and Insomniac’s “Lost In Dreams”. JUST JAMES has also opened for many of EDM's biggest names including Illenium, Gryffin, Tchami, Oliver Heldens and more.
