I brought these songs back and redesigned tenna to fit them better. the previous two designs really didn't fit the vibes of the song very well, so I decided to make this new design as fucking abnoxious as I could. he really fits the noisemaster motif now lol

also, his head was inspired by a tenna design @1jayze made, specifically the eyes being on the antenna and the mouth being on the screen. although, this tenna’s mouth IS the screen, a design detail I took from an old design of mine. I like how much more overly obnoxious a big ass grin makes him look lol. 

he’s still a robot, though. that much has stayed the same. also he’s still green. even if this take isn’t supposed to represent what I I think the canon chapter 3 will be like, I still think tenna will be green.

yeah, yeah, this guy's a fake asriel secret boss, the drsc equivalent of a dead horse so well beat it's been rendered a stain on the ground, especially back during the fake leak craze of late 2023.

I didn't actually intend for this guy to be this take's secret boss from the start, though. the take initially had a different boss idea, which I slowly grew less and less interested in with time (something that seems to happen every time I make a deltarune take lol). If I were to make a chapter 4 for this set of songs, I'd reuse that idea for that chapter's secret boss. 

I think I was about to scrap the take altogether when out of the blue my friend bonnie made a set of songs based on an old song I had made for a fake asriel sb concept back in september 2023. those songs were so good, gears started turning in my head with ideas for how to incorporate them into the take I had going. 

I ran through a few ideas, before landing on this creepy edgelord. his whole deal is that they're a darkner influenced by the memories kris has of asriel, the desire they have to be like him, kris' perceptions of ralsei and the adventure they're on, etc. he's fairly sans-like in his demeanor and how they know more than they let on (and in his outfit, too. I gave him the chair coat because the messiness of the chair gif when you click on it on the website fits their messy existence, and because whenever I gave him a red coat it didn't fit him so I'm just going to give them the coat that already exists in canon and is (presumedly) related to the secret bosses). as such, I made the decision to make him use the blue soul over the purple soul. also, they use he/they because he's simultaniously a combination of memories of asriel and kris. 

their quirk is also inspired by chara's love of the number nine (cuz chara/kris parallels) and also by kankri's typing quirk from homestuck. I thought the idea was neat. 

I hope you like this guy, because this is probably the first time I've liked a secret boss oc of mine this much. also his name is the way it is because ariel was taken.

azrial's superboss track. 

I don't know if bonnie intended for this track to be the superboss track for azrial or not, but I thought it fit better as a superboss theme instead of a regular track, so I asked her to edit the motif at the quiet part to have the freedom motif.

I'm thinking the "big shot" for the blue soul is you being able to either charge up a jump or hold your spot in the air after jumping, both of which have a cooldown. 

I don't know what else I can say in terms of commentary for this song.

uh oh.

this song is effectively azrial's deal gone wrong/dialtone. unlike the other two songs bonnie made for azrial, I asked her to make this one because I wanted to use that dialogue I made. also, azrial needed a dialtone replacement. 

also, regarding the thumbnail, I'm not saying that doll is NOT azrial's light world object, but I intended for azrial's light world object to be up to interpretation. whatever you feel makes the most sense for them to be, that's what he is. 

I just kind of thought the designs of the dolls in asriel's room were fucking adorable, and I thought it would further the idea of azrial being related to  memories of asriel. 

more people should take notice of those dolls. they rock.

from the musical talent of the guy who made those songs for my snake secret boss comes the theme for my take's mike.

same as the secret boss, this mike wasn't always the one I was going to use for this take. initially, this take's mike was an addison like spamton (albeit one that was a commercial instead of an internet ad) who was a vain pretty boy cassanova who got popular off of a soda ad he pushed. I can’t remember why, but he was eventually kicked out of tenna's production company and eventually became the leader of the shadowguys, becoming the most blatant jack noir reference you could imagine. 

I was in the middle of reading homestuck for the first time when I was first making this take, and I wanted to include incredibly blatant references to it throughout it. there was going to be a track that was a jazz rendition of "I'm a member of the midnight crew" that would play in a bar with a bunch of shadowguys in it, and tenna's old orange cheeks were originally spiraled like a cherub’s. heck, the chapter's name was originally "stuck here at home." shit was intense, never underestimate a homestuck fan's ability to include 30 million homestuck references in everything they make. 

anyways, I eventually got tired of that mike, and decided to make a new one to go with the redesigned tenna and new secret boss.
 
however, the problem was I didn't have an idea on what idea to replace that one with, and I needed to make one in order to fill space on the image I posted on bluesky showcasing tenna and the secret boss. 

mike was going to be a cat, originally, but I wasn't the biggest fan of that idea so I just made him look like a sterotypical business ceo and called it a day. I also gave him the tv smile because tenna wasn't using it anymore.

he’s very much inspired by @lexxiemow 's mike for her deltarune take leone, because honestly that was the first thing that came to my mind when I thought "mike". 

you could probably tell just by looking, though. the two have very similar body shapes and concepts. 

on top of leone mike, I took some major inspiration from the mayor from osmosis jones of all characters. I don’t know WHY that was one of the main things that came to mind when I was designing this guy, but honestly, I think it fits the aesthetic I was going for with him. 

also, he's not based on trump. the only similarities he has to him is his haircut, and the fact said haircut is yellow.

somebody on bluesky said he looked more like saul goodman, and honestly I see that more than trump. fits more with his phone theming and overall vibe too, lol 

but for a character who was made as an afterthought and was heavily inspired by another mike rendition, I like the way this guy's design and personality came out. his vibes and design are at least, in my opinion, a little bit different than leone's mike, and I like the way he looks like he's probably in his late 40's. I liked making him look wrinkled and old.  

oh, yeah. mike runs the television company, and is the landline phone in the dreemurr house. wow, who would have guessed. 

this take has just devolved into me just doing my own take on the fandom's most tried and true take tropes. I'm fine with that, it's just kind of funny how it all happened. 

also, on that topic, me and jeefly would both like to stress that the motif at 0:25 is not supposed to be bumper.
