Michalis Andronikou is a composer and musicologist currently residing in Calgary, AB. He holds a PhD in composition from the University of Calgary. He received his Bachelor’s and Integrated Master’s degrees in musicology from the Department of Music Studies, University of Athens, Greece. He has a Diploma in Classical Guitar, Clarinet and Music Theory from the Trinity College and the Royal Academy of Music, and a Diploma in Byzantine Music from the Argyroupolis Municipal Conservatory. Michalis gained credentials in Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue, and Music Composition (with Theodore Antoniou) from the Hellenic Conservatory. Moreover, he has studied Greek folk instruments such as lute, tampoura and bouzouki. 

Michalis has composed music for small and large ensembles, theatre plays, art exhibits, movies, and songs. Ten CDs with his works have been released since 2003, and his scores are published by the Canadian Palliser Music Publishing, the Bulgarian Balkanota, the Italian Da Vinci Edition, the English Trübcher Music Editions, and the American Alea Publishing & Recording. 

Michalis is an associate composer of the Canadian Music Centre, a member of the Canadian League of Composers, a theory examiner of the Royal Conservatory of Music, a member of the Greek Composers Union, and a member of the Center of Cypriot Composers.

The composer and pianist Platon Buravicky was born on May 10, 1989 in Riga. He graduated the Riga 5th School of Music (1998–2002) specialising in piano (also studying composition with Vilnis Šmīdbergs), and the Emīls Dārziņš College of Music Keyboards Department (2002–2007, studying composition with Pēteris Vasks). He received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, studying composition with Selga Mence (2009–2013), and, under her direction, continues his Master’s studies. As of 2007, he supplements his knowledge with many teachers – he participated in algorithmic composition courses with Achim Christian Bornhoeft, electro-acoustic composition courses with Rolands Kronlaks, composition master classes with Dieter Mack, Alexander Tchaikovsky, Christian Wolff, Richard Cameron-Wolfe, and Ed Benett, and electro-acoustic music master classes with Lamberto Coccioli and James Bullock.

His works have received awards at the new composition competition (1st place – 1999, 2007) and at the Pēteris Vasks composition competition (2nd place – 2012, 3rd place – 2014). His music has been performed at the festivals Skaņu mežs, Dominante, Survival Kit 5, Art and Communication, Arēna, Latvijas Jaunās mūzikas dienas, and elsewhere.

He has worked as a teacher of music theory at the Jugla School of Music (2011–2013) and as a music teacher at the Riga Classical Secondary School (2011–2014). As of 2013, he is a teacher of composition and music programming at the Jelgava College of Music.

Chris Sivak (b. June 14th, 1982) is a talented multi–instrumentalist and composer residing in Victoria, BC. His output covers a wide variety of ground ranging from the soberly serious to the seriously absurd; all lush and lasciviousness, hunting for the perfect musical moment, to manic chamber opera featuring casts of characters out to tickle your funny bone.

Chris was the composer in residence with the Laudate Singers of North Vancouver from 2014 to 2016 and is an Associate Composer of The Canadian Music Center.

Chris has been commissioned to write music for the Vancouver Chamber Choir,Red Shift Music Society, The Vancouver Peace Choir, The Amicus Duo, The Nu:BC Collective, and OperaFeHk.

Chris is also a freelance writer whose words are often found in the pages of Vancouver’s local papers and maintains a blog at http://www.chris-sivak.com where he dissects music in his own quirky way. Chris holds a Bachelor’s Of Music in composition from UBC, loves to cycle, dance, and wear silly socks.
