Monkey Safari are back on Get Physical Music with a new remix that quickly follows their 'Hi & Low' single from the forthcoming Body Language Vol. 24 mix. 

This time, the duo remix Super Flu's 'Didschn' track which was first out on the label Monaberry in 2010. It is the latest in a long line of successes from the Monkey Safari pair who have put out a range of great EPs and LPs, always with characterful sound designs and curious grooves. 

Their fresh remix of 'Didschn' is an eight minute and immersive house masterclass. The supple drums roll deep under lush and late night synths. As the pressure builds, vocals and freaky sound effects add details to keep things fresh and ensure this one is going to cast a real spell on all who hear it. 

This is another super offering from Monkey Safari who are in the form their lives.

The fight against the restless mind
Faithless's "Insomnia" directly exposes the impact of sleep deprivation, transforming Maxi Jazz's personal experience into something universal. The vocalist drew inspiration from his own insomnia, caused by a tooth abscess, to create a narrative about the constant struggle against relentless thoughts and the search for relief. Lines like "I struggle, fight dark forces / In the clear moonlight / Without fear, insomnia / I can't get no sleep" demonstrate both the physical exhaustion and the mental struggle that intensifies during the night.
The lyrics blend desire, frustration, and failed attempts to find peace, as in “Insomnia, please release me and let me dream of / Making mad love to my girl on the heath / Tearin' off tights with my teeth / But there's no release, no peace.” The use of sleeping pills, mentioned in “kept takin' sleepers / But now I keep myself pepped,” shows the transition from despair to restless resignation. Even creativity, as in “that night I write by candlelight / I find insight,” emerges as a result of forced wakefulness. The chorus “I can't get no sleep” reinforces the endless cycle of insomnia, making the song a faithful portrait of the exhaustion and restlessness of sleepless nights.

KOMPAKT welcomes back Copenhagen’s WhoMadeWho. Tomas Barfod’s penchant for electronic music poetically juxtaposed with Tomas Høffding and Jeppe Kjellberg’s respective backgrounds in rock and jazz, gives their music an electrifying combination of sounds, merging a variety of influences to produce a unique sonic fingerprint that is emotive, irresistible and immensely satisfying. 

Though we both have yet to strike a note together since the release of their 2012 full length “Brighter” (KOM 254), WhoMadeWho have been remarkably productive. With two full lengths, a DJ mix for Watergate’s series and releasing two of 2019’s most played out club tracks together with Rampa (Innervisions) and Artbat (Watergate Records), the trio have found themselves diving more and more into the world of electronic music, tapping into their goldmine of connections within the scene to spearhead an array of collaborations. 

Synchronicity is all about ‘meaningful coincidences’ – bringing interpretation to bear on connections that have no actual causal relationship. It’s a canny concept to pin onto Copenhagen trio WhoMadeWho’s latest album, which sees them return to Kompakt for the first time since 2012’s Brighter.

This re-established connection helps us to understand the synchronicity at play, the way that the WhoMadeWho core ave built an album around collaboration with friends and peers, much as Kompakt is all about cross-connections and family. On Synchronicity, WhoMadeWho call on friends old and new – Michael Mayer, Echonomist, Adana Twins, Alex Boman, Robag Wruhme, Frank Wiedemann, Sainte Vie, Mano Le Tough, Marc Piñol, Rebolledo, and Perel is the cast list; WhoMadeWho direct the material, shaping it into one lovingly flowing gem of dance-pop glory.

There’s something particularly generous about hearing an album as all-inclusive and open-hearted as Synchronicity in the midst of the profound social and cultural shifts we’re currently experiencing. While some songs on Synchronicity were recorded together, in real time, such as the collaborations with Adana Twins and Rebolledo, most of them have taken place via long distance, thanks to the pandemic lockdown. But you don’t need to know who was where to understand either the magnesium-flare melancholy of “Sooner”, recorded with Piñol, which has you holding your breath with the gentle thrill of the song’s lush melody, or the stomping strut of the following Adana Twins collaboration, “Shadow Of Doubt”.

Elsewhere, there’s the stentorian robot voice at the heart of “Hamstring”, where they’re joined by Michael Mayer; the lustrous headsoak of “Twenty Tears”, a tender intervention by Rebolledo; the strip-light, slow-motion disco strut of “Cecil”, produced alongside Echonomist; or the glittering, arpeggio dreamwork that Perel helps sculpt into shape on “Der Abend birgt keine Ruh.”… Really, there’s so much to celebrate here, a panoply of pleasures. From pop revelations to dancefloor delirium to slow-burning brooders, Synchronicity is just that; a space for the joys of the unexpected to collide, and to be given meaning by their coincidental co-existence in WhoMadeWho’s beautiful world.

L.K.V.Ñ est un DJ et producteur originaire du sud de la France et aujourd’hui basé à Lyon, passionné de musique électronique depuis son enfance. Il débute en club dès 2006, influencé par la French Touch & la Minimal, avant de se lancer dans le mix sous le nom de Loran.Kalvin, épaulé par ses cousins actifs sur la scène londonienne.

Sa rencontre avec le collectif Tekcircus en 2010 marque un tournant artistique : il explore une approche plus libre et organique des fêtes électroniques. Parallèlement, il développe ses compétences en production sur hardware, avec l’ambition de bâtir son propre studio et collaborer avec d’autres artistes.

Après une pause en 2015 pour se former aux techniques du spectacle vivant à Lyon, il cofonde le duo Area07 avec Bastranger, intègre Hybrid Ricordz, joue dans des festivals comme Buena Onda et collabore avec PRISMATIK. 
Leur EP London to Madrid sort en 2016, puis L.K.V.Ñ reprend sa route en solo et adopte son nom actuel.

Son univers musical évolue vers des styles Organic, Melodic House & Techno, et Progressive House, guidé par des influences telles que les labesl Anjunadeep, Lost & Found, Reflections, Melody of Soul, Shanti Radio, For Sense, Lost Miracel et bien d'autres..
En 2020, son titre Balade Nocturne figure sur un vinyle du label Hybrid Ricordz. 
En 2023, il rejoint Beatlick (sous-label d’Intricate Records) avec la track "Oriental Express", aux côtés d’artistes comme Proff ou Jiminy Hop.

Aujourd’hui, en plus d’être co-organisteur chez DbSharing, il défend une ligne artistique authentique et audacieuse, sincère et immersive mettant en avant des sonorités électroniques encore peu jouées en France. 
Ses sets sont construits comme des voyages, mêlant mélodie, profondeur et émotions et composés de morceaux rares et inspirants.
