This cover was originally planned to be a collaboration, but it has been aborted about a month ago, since my alleged collaborative partners stated that I was "unable to cooperate on the sort of creative level that they generally expect" from those who have the privilege to work with them. Being well aware of my inadequacy, I usually try to make music for fun, simply because I love doing that. I can't spend as much time as I'd like to on my music, unfortunately, so I really can't afford to waste it: that's why I eventually decided to add a few drums and keyboards parts to the aborted collaboration and release it. Please watch out for your ears while listening to it, as it probably sounds poor and shoddy. It surely does if compared to the original, that goes without saying. May Syd Barrett rest in peace, despite of all of the slandering and treachery he had to endure.

I'd like to dedicate this cover to my uncle, who initiated me into the sonic mysteries of "Ummagumma" at a very early age, giving me a chance to open up the doors of my perception.

Me and Hideo rock-in' it out, good old spontaneous jam style, in fun-fun-fun mode. Nothing's better than a live jam...I l-i-v-e for it! In case you might be wondering, the far off distant psychedelic vocals are in fact deliberate...I tried to create the picture that we are up in the cosmic realm among the planets and stars jamming it up oh so blissfully, trying to please the Gods, the universe and all who dwell within. We are physically so far away from one another yet spiritually, we are so near and ready...ready to give you the instant magical vibrational feeling. At least we hope we're doing that. The intox-hypno-trance vocals are actually me telling Hideo how excited I am to be jamming with him....jamming to his super charged up kit-percussion! From the first moment I heard Hideo play his drums, I was completely gone as in stoned out of my mind. Definitions of the term aporia have varied throughout history. The Oxford English Dictionary includes two forms of the word: the adjective "aporetic", which it defines as "impassable", and "inclined to doubt, or to raise objections"; and the noun form "aporia", which it defines as the "state of the aporetic" and "a perplexity or difficulty". The dictionary entry also includes two early textual uses, which both refer to the term's rhetorical (rather than philosophical) usage.

In George Puttenham's The Arte of English Poesie (1589), aporia is "the Doubtful, [so] called...because often we will seem to caste perils, and make doubts of things when by a plaine manner of speech we might affirm or deny [them]". In a reference from 1657, J. Smith's Mystical Rhetoric, the term becomes "a figure whereby the speaker sheweth that he doubteth, either where to begin for the multitude of matters, or what to do or say in some strange or ambiguous thing" (OED). Herbert Weir Smyth's Greek Grammar (1956) also focuses on the rhetorical usage by defining aporia as "an artifice by which a speaker feigns doubts as to where he shall begin or end or what he shall do or say" (674).

More modern sources, perhaps because they come after the advent of post-structuralism, have chosen to omit the rhetorical usage of the term. In William Harmon's A Handbook to Literature, for example, aporia is identified as "a difficulty, impasse, or point of doubt and indecision", while also noting that critics such as Jacques Derrida have employed the term to "indicate a point of undecidability, which locates the site at which the text most obviously undermines its own rhetorical structure, dismantles, or deconstructs itself" (39). Julian Wolfreys, in his essay "Trauma, Testimony, and Criticism", characterizes trauma as aporia, a wound with unending trail. Valiur Rahaman, in his book Interpretations: Essays in Literary Theory (2011), explained aporia as a creative force in both the artist and their art; it is, for the artist, an edgeless edge of the text or a work of art.
