Csárdás (or Czardas) is the only famous composition of Vittorio Monti. A rhapsodical concert piece written in 1904, it is a well-known folk piece based on a Hungarian csárdás. It was originally composed for violin, mandolin or piano. Nowadays, it is usually played on the violin, but can also be played as a piano solo, saxophone solo, on the accordion, or as an orchestral arrangement. The duration of the piece is about four

Story
Pulau Terapung... The Guardian of the Green Silence
In the deep waters of the Belait River, where the mist dances like a wandering spirit and the trees whisper ancient secrets, there exists an island that does not obey the laws of the world. Pulau Terapung, the Floating Island, appears only when the jungle allows it, when the balance between humans and nature is shaken.
The kampung elders tell us that the island has no roots in the earth, but in the soul of the forest. Its guardian, Penjaga Hutan Larangan, is neither man nor beast, but an ancestral spirit born from the first tree that sprouted when the world was still dreaming. He has eyes like fireflies and a voice like the crackling of branches. His duty: to protect the forbidden forest, where no axe should sing, where no fire should dance.
One day, an ambitious young man named Rafiq, eager for fame, sailed up the Belait with the intention of mapping the island. He carried drones, machetes, and promises of progress. The jungle watched him silently. When the mist parted, Pulau Terapung emerged, shining like a wet emerald. Rafiq disembarked, ignoring the warning chants the wind brought him.
He cut a branch. The river stirred. He stepped on a sacred flower. The sky darkened. When he tried to take a stone from the guardian's altar, the island shook. Trees rose like giants, roots tangled around his feet, and the spirit appeared, wrapped in living leaves and ancient shadows.
"What breathes without your permission is not yours," Penjaga said. "The jungle is not conquered. It is honored."
Rafiq disappeared. His boat was found empty, floating downriver. Since then, fishermen leave offerings of fruit and flowers as they pass through the Belait. No one dares to search for the island. No one dares to challenge the guardian.

I was just practicing tonight and felt like recording one of the pieces.  Beethoven's Sonata No. 14 in C# minor Op. 27 No. 2, or otherwise known as 'Quasi una fantasia' or the 'Moonlight Sonata'.  I recorded this on a Steinway D and mastered it in my mastering studio www.alpinemastering.com
