Since 2005, Figga 4 has been very quiet. The group was formed in 1997 through a chance encounter at Charlotte's Power 98 radio station. However, the group hasn't made music their primary focus. Interestingly enough, it seems they have all worked to build their personal and professional foundations while using music as a creative outlet. While this may sound shocking to some, this route has assisted Figga 4 in solidifying their personal bonds. 

Creative Loafing has compared the group to the old school Ultramagnetic MCs and the group has remained shrouded in mystery with limited imagery and video throughout the internet. The individual members have maintained their stage names, BKNC, Mastamind, Shif-T and Supreme. 

Many times, we see these types of groups split up after a couple of years, but their formula has seen them work together for a solid 15 years. It's worked to keep them a tight knit group, while they evolve musically and personally. Their growth is evident in their newest street single, "Chaos and Mayhem," which examines the duality between chaos and mayhem politically. With this being the case, Figga 4 does not claim to be a political or positive group. However, they do promise to express the artform, their talents and their brand while having a lot of fun.
