This album is a descent into the liminal, where unspoken truths coil beneath the surface, and every sound trembles like a fading whisper caught between what was and what could never be.

This is my most ambitious work to date, sculpted from a tumultuous stillness, where illusions are shaped, and the warmth of forgotten moments dissolves into the void. A creation that demanded to be unearthed, forged from fragments that refuse to be silenced.
With it, I seek to close a chapter, letting certain echoes vanish while others find their voice, now distant but unmistakable.

Mastered by Stephan Mathieu, adorned with the evocative photography of Alison Scarpulla, and released on Roman Numeral Records.

The latest @fragilex album brings new meaning to the term “labour of love”. It’s an album that’s been in the works for quite some time. The album is inspired by a long term obsession with fractals and their never ending possibilities.

The original production process on the “Curves and Calculus” album began back in 2018 and in the 7 years since its original inception it has morphed and splintered in many directions to allow all the parts of the puzzle to fall into place.

The finished article is a musical maze, brimming with all manner of corridors and pathways to explore. Pulling in inspirations from every angle of the electronic spectrum and integrating them into a mesmerising journey full of colour, serenity and warmth.

We enter and end the trip in an ambient mood but along the way there’s a nod to the psychedelic aspect that is so often associated with fractals, when we take on a trippier tone as the tracks burst into life through twists of intricate drums and flashes of glowing energy and shifts in motion. Mirroring the boundless nature and expansion of infinity.

All the shapes we experience come lined with effervescent melodies, glitchy sonic backdrops, glassy textures and a constant propulsive motion. Always kinetic, looking for the next move, like the fractal.

“Curves and Calculus” is an audio landscape that is constantly evolving. No real beginning, no real end. A symphony of infinite equations.

« Alors pour moi, Bot1500, c’est un peu une porte d’entrée idéale au monde du breakbeat, de l’ambient, de l’electro, de la braindance. Parcequ’il fait de la belle musique, paisible, accessible, c’est beau, c’est pas choquant, tout est à sa place et c’est très bien fait. Mais attention, pour autant, cette pseudo perfection, ne tombe pas nonplus dans la facilité, c’est bourré de charme et c’est original. Avec Bot1500, je ne m’ennuie pas, les sonorités sont parfaitement bien choisies, les melodies, les notes me font du bien, ne vous attendez pas à une fracture du crâne dystopique et futuristique, mais plutôt à une élévation positive et mélancholique, ancrée dans l’instant présent. Sa musique est à savourer en haut d’une montagne avec vue sur la vallée, en pleine nature au printemps. Oui c’est assez mystique ce que je raconte, c’est Bot1500, bonne écoute. » Paul 🙂
