Dopel — The Architect of Weight
Dopel doesn’t simply produce bass —he constructs it like a man welding steel beams in the dark. His work is heavy but intentional, every frequency braced like a cathedral for subwoofers. You don’t hear Dopel’s sound design, you inhabit it, like trudging through some alien factory where the machines breathe. He’s not chasing trends; he’s changing them, with deep slabs of sonic gravity.

Josimar, ‘Underground Drum & Bass DJ’……. As cliche a term as that is, Josimar is the superlative embodiment of that phrase with a career spanning over 20 years in the genre.
Inspired by the likes of ‘Fruit Club’ residents ‘The Wax Doctor’ and ‘DJ Gwange’ Josimar began DJing ‘Intelligent Jungle’ in and around Oxford but was soon picked up by a Luton based ‘DIY’ sound system known as ‘The Exodus Collective’.
At that time ‘Exodus’ were spearheading the UK Dance music scene and were one of the only crews still able to pull of convoy led free raves containing thousands of people, on a weekly basis. Touring with the Collective for 7 years including the Rote Fabrik Zurich tour of 96, Josimar gained his love for that deep bass and clean hypnotic drums that you can still hear in his music today.
On returning to Oxford he became part of the A&R team for Timeless Recordings and a resident at the legendary ‘Source’ night which was a cornerstone of the UK DnB scene for at least a decade. After years of DJing with all the biggest names in the game, including the 
‘Valve Sound System’ and playing throughout Europe and as far a field as Sentosa Island Singapore, it was time for a new challenge.
Moving to Bristol in 2005 he started working on his production skills, this would lead to a meeting and subsequent collaboration with Eveson (Channel 82 records) with whom Josimar wrote ‘Kingdom’, and whilst never officially released this single earned a good level of support from Fabio, DJ Lee and Total Science.
Now writing music under the alias Dark Matt.R, Josimar remains one of the best DnB DJ’s you’ve never heard of till now…….
