Emerging Italian producer D3070 shares his name with a type of flamethrower; quite apt given the amount of flame emojis that have been dropped in the comments sections of where his debut release on CYBERDOME has been teased.
Staying true to the Cyber aesthetic, ‘Booster’ is a melting cut of dungeon electro; oozing with bright, neon sludge which - once consumed - takes its hold on the individual by driving them into a dancing frenzy. ‘Voyager 1’ is a dreamier trip; ambient leaning, but with that signature doomed-out funk.
‘Deep Impact’ plays out like an unauthorised lining on a otherworldly space rock; brimming with intrigue, mystery and slow-mo, anti-gravity textures, before ‘New Era’ signals the dawning of a fresh, ethereal start through its scattered breaks and transcendental inspiration.
‘Humint’ finally brings us back down to earth as we venture back downstairs towards the darkness; a fitting start to the young artists back catalogue.

FFF always comes with the heat with his unique blend of choppy beats and dual sensibility. The perfect combination of light and dark culminating in a profusion of emotions and euphoric whiplash. Now the Rotterdam junglist makes the step up to heavyweight with his debut on Lobster Theremin, featuring four club-ready cuts.

Title track ‘One Tribe’ builds slowly in anticipation, teasing listeners before being thrown into a cascade of fire. Gnarling synths, nausinating drums and hypnotic vocals acting as the source to create a kinetic, chemical reaction. ‘So Special’ radiates joy as it moves through sound systems with a spring in it’s step; followed up by a magnetic acid switch during the track's second half.

FFF’s music finds the balance between classic sounds with a flare for the enigmatic. ‘It’s Official’ rides a steady 4x4 beat with one of the most ecstatic piano rolls and vocal cuts you’re likely to hear all summer; before being shown the door to an alternate world. The EP comes to a close with ‘Weak Capacity’ a caffeine-charged rhythm inspired by the rave.

Shetlands raised, Malmö based producer Bolam has been building quite the reputation for himself with his exciting blend of future-facing UK techno, breakbeat, jungle and electro. Following a release on London’s Control Freak Recordings, Cheeky Music Group welcomes the emerging artist to the roster with the Thunderclap EP.

The title track is a left-field leaning blend of experimental electronics, pace-building techno and large breaks, all tied together under an umbrella of hair-raising atmospherics designed to excite and alarm. ‘Hype Shifter’ makes playful use of grimey textures and tones as this subby cut of breakbeat ventures deep into the underground with elements of Baltimore club.

‘Indecipherable’ is self-descriptive; a mutated electro cut that lends from a large pool of sub-genre to create something totally unique. Wait for the vocals after the halfway point, here Bolam has crafted one of the most exciting crossover tracks of the year.

Closing out the EP is TRULE bossman and man of the hour Al Wooton. The artist formerly known as Deadboy turns in a typically bassy, stripped back breaks remix of ‘Hype Shifter’ - one that should be going straight in any UK sound heads cart.

Gimme A Break Records is extremely excited to present its first vinyl release featuring four talented Leeds-based producers. With the support of the charitable music initiative Launchpad, through both mentoring and funding, alongside physical and digital distribution with Lobster Theremin we are delighted to continue to represent and support the forward-thinking electronic music coming out of the North of England. The record’s A-side features a funk-influenced number from Bakey who continues to develop his distinctive sound off the back of his sensational releases on Shall Not Fade’s sub-label Time Is Now and recent collaboration with Sam Binga and Redders. Following his outstanding debut EP on Ba Dum Tish, Papa Nugs’ ‘Honey’ sustains his characteristically playful sampling, accompanied by crunchin g UKG rhythms and wobbling basslines. On the flip side, ANSZA, previously releasing on ec2a, provides a powerful garage number with percussive breaks interspersed on the track’s second drop. Finally, Phasmid’s ‘Deadpan’, featuring the producer’s signature lilting hats, epitomises the sound being pushed in the current UKG/Breaks crossover.
