First you will learn when, where and why to move the rook after castling. Then comes a trippy Romanian pastoral epic dedicated to our favourite chess grandmaster, Elisabeta P, followed by a nostalgic tribute to Albatros based on Bobby Fischer's last words. From there we keep it oriental, like the origins of chess. Here is a gypsy charade that was commissioned by and firstly performed at the Evicted Women Fashion Parade 2013. In the end, although Bach might not agree, we do not hesitate to exchange the bishop for a knight.

Mai intâi trebuie să afli misterul: când, unde și de ce să muți tura atunci când faci rocada. Vine apoi o baladă mioritică dedicată marei noastre maestre internaționale. Și un tribut nostalgic pentru Albatros pornind de la ultimele cuvinte ale lui Bobby Fischer. Ramânem in Orient, la urma urmei de acolo vine șahul. O șarada țigănească compusă special pentru Parada Femeilor Evacuate 2013. Iar in final, deși poate Bach n-ar fi de acord, sacrificăm nebunul pentru un cal.

Erinnerung means memento in german and has been built around Nina Simone's voice taken from "The Other Woman" with all its 90's sentimental luggage: half empty white wine glasses, half smoked cigarettes while visiting some almost familiar people, mornings drowned in too much booze and confusion as sinful and blissful clubbing sessions.

Initially they thought that the Poor Relatives is a cool name for a band, Flore and Rusu bonded again, stronger than black coffee and milk. But then they met some smarter people who kept asking about the deeper meaning of the concept. The ageing but still charming duo shrouded themselves in erotic mystery. Until recently.

With the release of the first EP, they thought that coming out clean would enhance
their good chi. This is taken out of context:

" ...it's about trying to avoid the inescapable, it's about taking risks that nobody would take, and we don't necessarily mean that in a good way. It's about dropping that unexpected tune at a party, it's about sexy moments and waterfalls, about movies with a great soundtrack and young Rebecca de Mornay, and so on... "

The EP compiles four parts and a variation, every one of them being a sequential follow-up of the precedent. Together they form a logical, yet emotionally charged, ensemble. All four parts fusion with one another and create a perfect match. The atmospherically warm sound of the whole ensemble comes as an exteriorization of the profoundest human emotions. Along with organic notes and raw voices, it is definitely successful in creating a certain mood.

Relying heavily on sampling, the EP succeeds in being a very personal (and thus, original) piece of work that attempts to capture what makes each of us unique, things like personal memories and the places we have grown in.

"95" has the sheer energy of a 1990 Romanian disco club revisited with a 2010 post-rave attitude. It's like reading The Three Musketeers after spending the weekend dancing in Berlin.

Despite being club oriented with touches of dub techno and deep house, this EP attempts to reach a higher, more complex and edgy musical goal: 90% of it is made using audio samples and instruments collected through a lot of years and I tried to profit from all their imperfections and limitations.

These are 9 tracks testifying together about the way Bucharest is and feels like today. The album, simply called ONE, marks Eusebio's debut and it doesn't just play the capital's soundscape. Its purpose is to make you feel like you are taking a walk through it: full blown human chaos with sound chaos and traffic chaos for the middle of the day and deep, deep clam punctuated by a vagrant dog or car for the middle of the night. The album contains reworked night time street ambient recordings and for any of the song there is a corresponding particular state of mind or moment in time. It took Eusebio a full year to finish ONE, a full year of fine tuning to achieve minute details that you are aware of after two or three listening sessions. The more sessions, the more details. Synths, flutes, guitars, drums and drum effects and drum machines plus traffic signs turned drum kits, plates and glasses turned to chimes and bells, and above all these, the mighty PC, used as a recording, editing and mixing tool. Part of the songs are produced by Waar, Eusebio wingman in the High Jet project, an electronica extravaganza endeavor, a musical fresh mint designed to refresh you. As a bonus, the CD version of the album includes a surprise sound piece for the lucky guy that gets hold of a copy. And by the way, the design of the CD leaflet is made by LieProof (http://lieproof.net) and has the Country's Heroes Monuments on it. Local heroes, sort of.

Bogdan Marcu opens a new series of local digital releases, LOCAL REMIXES, with the Mashapist Shef EP, a mash-up of all the 17 tracks on the Buzz.RO! compilation, released in March and reissued in 2000 copies three months later by the same label, with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute.

This would not have been possible without using Creative Commonce licenses, with provide the artist with free management of his copyright. Therefore, all Local Records releases can be shared, mixed, remixed or sampled, and artist collaboration is stimulated.

01 Bogdan Marcu - Fast connected memoriz

La 26 de ani, Alex Bălă, cel care se află în spatele proiectului Plurabelle, este jurnalist la lumină, producător la întuneric, tipul clasic de producător Local, de dormitor, care face muzică fără un background muzical academic și fără un anturaj care să-i poată da un feedback valabil. Totul este un experiment început acum un an și ceva, cu două clape, un pad, un laptop și multe tutoriale, ca pentru un hobby de autodidact. Deciziile sale muzicale se bazează pe simțul estetic, cultivat de copilăria cu Kraftwerk și Tangerine Dream pe benzi de magnetofon. Dar și pe bătutul în tobe în trupe adolescentine de rock, pe scene care l-au făcut să prindă gustul pentru concerte. Așa a ajuns să cânte cu soții Fierbințeanu, pe care-i acompaniază cu un ritm, cu o clapă. 

În dormitor produce soundtrack-uri pentru diverse chestii, dar mai ales pentru cărți. Plurabelle este un personaj din romanul „Finnegans Wake”, de James Joyce, titlul primului său EP,  „The streets were paved with pastry” este un vers dintr-o culegere de poezii medievale franțuzești, iar titlul celui de-al doilea EP, „Money, Blood and Light”, scos la Local Records, este o firmă luminoasă zărită de un personaj de-a lui Tom McCarthy, în romanul „Remainder”. Toate numele astea sunt ciudate, încărcate de nostalgie și naivitate, dar fără a fi plăpânde, la fel ca și muzica. 

EP-ul este un soundtrack imaginar pentru o scenă din romanul „Remainder”, al lui Tom McCarthy. Personajul principal se îmbogățește în urma unui accident, dar nu-l mai bucură nimic din ceea ce-i bucură pe oameni, așa că angajează actori și rejoacă scene din viața sa pe care și le aduce aminte pe jumătate, într-un decor construit cu mulți bani. Într-o scenă e prăbușit pe asfalt, iar când ridică ochii, primul lucru pe care-l vede este firma luminoasă „Money, Blood and Light”. Corelarea aceasta cu anumite scene ajută artistul să creeze o legătură emoțională cu sound-ul. Asfel că, EP-ul surprinde căutarea personajului după bucuria supremă, dar nu este o fugă printr-un neant muzical, ci e foarte unitar și are amprentă stilistică.

Local Records is a Romanian electronic music label which promotes homegrown electronic music producers and defines local Romanian sound.
For the past 15 years, the Romanian electronic music scene evolved in attitude and artistic awareness. The time has come to focus on the essence of a music scene – its producers. Until now, in Romania, electronic music producers have been working by themselves and sharing their music only in small circles. The public is not aware of their existence and does not perceive them as an artistic movement of any kind. This lack of communication and perspectives (the chance to be heard by a bigger audience, to have local and international success, to be appreciated, supported and promoted) discourages any future producers that are thinking to choose this direction.
Local Records wants to create an artistic community of mutual interests and to discover a new Romanian sound by encouraging producers which currently don’t have the stimuli to persevere and show their true potential.
