Hamburg duo Hauke Freer and Matthias Relling aka Session Victim return to Delusions of Grandeur with their second long player, 'See You When You Get There'.

Right from the start it's clear Session Victim's way with a groove hasn't diminished in the two years since their debut album, 2012's 'The Haunted House of House'. ‘Do It Now’ and ‘Hey Stranger’ open the record with the duo's trademark blend of subtle sampling, gloriously swinging beats and the same off-kilter sensibility that consistently raises them above their modern disco peers.

The new album marks a conscious progression in Freer & Relling's approach, evolving the sample-based production style that's won them plenty of fans since their emergence in 2008. Whereas their debut album was recorded in the duo's bedrooms, the new LP instead sees them embracing a full studio set-up, split between their own Hamburg-based studio and the fully-kitted out Room G studio in San Francisco.

Despite being situated in one of the USA's most beautiful locations, the duo found little time for anything outside the work at hand. Time not spent in the studio saw them raiding the two-dollar bins of Amoeba Music for interesting records to sample. "Having access to a fully-equipped studio was like hitting the jackpot. It was a bit intimidating too - we thought 'if we cannot write the LP here, it’s not in us'. A few days later we already forgot about this and were immersed in jamming and exploring," says Hauke. "We had access to all sorts of 80s drum machines, synths and fender rhodes of course that added another layer to the whole thing."

The resulting LP is as expected one that suits a variety of moods within SV's idosyncratic range - from the dancefloor thrills of the piano-led Never Forget, the classic disco percussion & filtered guitar licks of Stick Together and the heads down groove of The Most Beautiful Divorce Ever to the more laid back jazz tempos of Hyuwee and Crystal Maze, while the record also has a place for the more oddball moments of Under Your Spell and Eos Place. ‘See You When You Get There' finds Session Victim at their best yet, with an accomplished album that will likely emerge as one of 2014's strongest in its field.

@floforg upcoming EP, *Land of Smile*, takes listeners on a musical journey inspired by his travels through Sri Lanka. Scheduled for release on November 15, 2024, the five-track EP moves between downtempo, organic house, and house, blending tropical field recordings with electronic sounds from synthesizers and drum machines. Throughout his stay in Sri Lanka, Flo gathered samples and sketches that he captured in small loops and jams using Ableton Note. Back in Munich at the Wertstoff Musik Studio, he brought these elements to life, meticulously arranging the production, drum programming, and melodies.

Two tracks from the EP, “Little Paradise” and “Turtle Beach,” have already aired on NTS, Ingrown Radio, and Switzerland’s La Radio du bord de l’eau, while “Mangrove County” was recently featured on FM4’s *Unlimited*. The release party will be held on November 15 at Corleone in Munich, where Flo will celebrate alongside DJ friends.

Our latest “Looking for Mushrooms” EP comes to us from a collaboration between long time Dirt Crew resident Tigerskin and gifted jazz pianist and composer Grambow. We first heard from Grambow when his fluid key stylings featured on Tigerskin’s “Faint” in 2015.

The title track is a suspenseful and moody journey, lead by live double bass from feature artist “Das Eb”. Building in intensity with Tigerskin’s warm production and steady percussive instrumentation until Grambow’s live lead on a gritty synth growls in over the top. A true modern electronic classic as far as we are concernred.

“Tsukiji” is a playful deep house groover. Balmy tuned percussion and shaken highs roll along under the light hearted piano which cruises along throughout the whole tropically touched endeavour. This track has “Party” written all over it!

“Octocat” is a tougher italo disco tainted work out, tightly programmed live and analogue percussive elements push along, while wailing keys lick over a tenacious grunting bass. You can really taste and feel the long studio sessions the guys had to compose this great track. It is so much more than generic dance music.

“Red Fox” is a divine culmination of the pair’s compositional prowess and dance music knowhow. A cinematic and spirited house track that glides and glistens via delicate piano, plucky percussive riffs, bright strings and woodwinds.

@LozGoddard joins Team Bad in the third installment of the @Quartetseries with the B1 cut, “Home”. Stepping away from his usual sample-oriented and fairly lighthearted sound, he contributes a hypnotizing, synth-heavy stomper. This groovy number revolves around an arpeggiated acid lead with a soulful vocal that fits perfectly despite the contrast. A secondary arpeggiated synth line whirls and mesmerizes while aggressive snares and machine-like claps propel the groove. Some tension is relieved temporarily with warm chords and a top end string before resuming to deliver the punishment on the Good Guys.

The “Soul Clap Remixes” leads with a bang.  Instrumental jam, “Funk Bomb” gets a proper re-rub by Blakdoctor aka Los Angeles rave legend Doc Martin and Blakkat, who strip Funk Bomb back to the essential groove, beefing it up for dance floor hypnosis with just the right amount of dubbing, FX and vocal ad libs by frequent collaborator, Lilia. Underground Italian New Disco expert Jolly Mare flips “Future 4 Love” into a primetime Italo beast, complete with marching disco bass, call and response synth leads and plenty of modulated melody. Obas Nenor, known for his work with Moodymann’s Mahogani music as well as his own imprint Nenorion, delivers a funk bassline driven version of “Dirty Leslie” that focuses on the original vocals but leaves plenty of room to breath and dance. Finally, Soul Clap Records own resident Jamaican David Marston totally reinterprets “Numb”, reshuffling and looping Ebony Houston’s vocals around a beautiful and melodic downtempo feel. Myles Karp’s guitar and bass work shine through and muted trumpet from Aquiles elevates this remix to a whole new level of class and sophistication.

'Young Berlin-based Friedrich Raphael started producing music in 2015 and DJing in 2016. Moreover, he’s creating art in the form of architectural collages. Especially through his project “Nautilus”, an arts and music events series, he built a large fan base in Berlin. 

You can catch him regularly playing house and disco sets. in clubs like Griessmühle, Watergate, Prince Charles, Kater Blau or in warehouse “off-spaces” during events of his project Halle113 or during the “Toy Tonics Jams” in the German capital. 

With “FRUIT SALAD”, Friedrich is releasing his long-awaited debut EP on the Spanish Disco and House label theBasement Discos. 
Like preparing a salad out of different varieties of fresh fruit, Friedrich Raphael built the tracks on this EP by putting together funky Japanese disco samples from the 80s, catchy melodies, groovy drums and percussion elements. 

Belgian talent Olivier Verhaeghe is doing what he is best in and serves a tasty remix of Friedrich’s track “Blueberry” to round out the track menu on “FRUIT SALAD”.'
