National Geordie treasure Richy Ahmed is undoubtedly an original brother and integral cog in the Hot Creations machine and since his emergence alongside the crew and subsequent blowing up of the scene, Richy has become one of the most sought after and hard­working DJs on the circuit. Now honing his production skills to a fine point, it’s no surprise he’s been showcasing on the label, with last years ‘The Drums’ smashing through on all fronts. Richy is now bestowed with the honour of helming the pinnacle 50th release for the ever ubiquitous label. ‘The Bells’ part 1 & 2 ­ already championed by Skream on BBC Radio 1 ­ is a bass driven banger centered around the hypnotic percussive groove.

Launched in 2010 and co­owned by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, Hot Creations is the
ground­breaking independent dance imprint that’s gained global notoriety in recent years through pioneering a new and unique sound born of it’s founders deep affinity with old disco records and soulful funk. 2013 saw the duo take their label to even greater planes upon the major label release of their band Hot Natured’s truly unique debut album and the label continues to nurture and champion a host of incredible homegrown and
overseas talent such as Digitaria, Greg Pidcock, Miguel Campbell, Robert James, wAFF and of course Richy Ahmed. 

In summer 2012, the crew launched the weekly Paradise events in Ibiza DC10, now in its third year and one of the current highlights on the island.

Richy has always played an integral part in the label, ranging from A&R to residencies at the global Hot Natured and Paradise events. Having since made an impact at some of the world’s best clubs and festivals including, Sonar, Tomorrowland, Glastonbury, Bestival, Panorama bar and London institution fabric, Richy has continually proved himself as an unequivocal party starter.

Armed with an individual sound that fuses the energy of house and disco with infectious funk­inspired grooves and a touch of dark, Richy’s distinct style has always been championed by heavyweights in the game such as Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Clive Henry and Seth Troxler. 2013’s ‘The Drums’ was Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune and gained widespread support among all the Radio 1 taste makers including Annie Mac, Danny Howard,and Rob Da Bank. As well as a host of massive remixes for the likes of Katy B on Columbia, Phil Kieran on Hot Flush, Michael Janson on Resonance Records, Richy also had a major coup curating the Rinse: 23 compilation to wide critical acclaim, cementing Richy’s status in the nu school elite.

LOCO DICE - Sending This One Out (feat. Just Blaze)

Madrid native Dennis Cruz makes his Solid Grooves Records debut with three rumbling cuts including a remix from fellow countryman Wade.

Since his debut in 2010, Cruz has become a staple in Beatport’s charts, not to mention the sets of artists such as Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Nicole Moudaber, Yousef and Roger Sanchez. Throughout this time the likely producer has dropped releases on Saved, Deeperfect, Stereo Productions and Kinetika, not to mention his very own imprint Lemon-Aid Music. He now arrives on PAWSA & Michael Bibi’s Solid Grooves Records, joining the likes of Wade, Kuo Climax and Rockwell & Landers for an exciting second year for the label.

Initiating with the sound of a roaring crowd, ‘See Line’ was produced with the dancefloor in mind using thudding kicks, arcane vocal samples and an energetic rhythm. ‘Heads or Cruz’ is a more low-slung number with a focus on a killer groove, whilst ‘Bienvenido’ engages in a medley of percussive elements geared for peaktime antics. Tying the package together, Wade remixes ‘See Line’ to give it his signature twist whilst ensuring the heady vocals reiterate throughout.

Nonstop Nonsense is a massive barnstormer of a track, that’s been massive for Jamie Jones; it’s a bit of a beast! Dat Cream is a refreshing bass driven rib rattler of a track grabbing you by the scruff of the neck and shaking you senseless.

Joining forces to create a formidable duo are best friends Matze and Johannes. After bonding over a mutual love for hip-hop, breakdance and skateboarding they soon started to produce music together. On the remix for Ki Creighton & Makanan, the German duo of Tolstoi & Andsan shift things up a gear straight from the outset.  Big kicks and sharp hi-hats pave the way for a muted re-rub of the hypnotic synth line.  The vocals are entwined with the fizzing atmospherics on the breakdown to create a big club feel to the track before the off-beat and addictive bass hook sinks it's claws in.

Set for release on the 28th of November Ki Creighton & Makanan's Coco Ricos EP is the perfect note for Kenja Records to end 2016 with.

It’s been a while since we released a V/A on Noir Music and I only ever compile them whenever I feel I have 5-6 tracks that stand out.

Dark Stars Volume 4 has been 6 months in the making and yes..... I know I am picky with the music I sign. I hear that on an almost daily basis.
But even though I could pick music from many different artists it still took me months of compiling, testing the music in clubs and at festivals and then putting together the tracks I felt stood out and complimented each other.

The great thing about V/A’s is that you get the chance to put together a release from artists with completely different sounds and ideas.
Although the sound of Dark Stars Volume 4 is quite minimal sounding overall, it still reflects musicality and great in-depth productions by skillful and experienced artists.
Another great thing about Volume 4 is that these are all artists who make their debut on Noir Music.

I truly love playing every single track from this release and I enjoy watching the crowds reactions around the globe.
I feel no need to get deeper into detail about the specific tracks, as the music will speak for itself.

From early breakout hit "Phat Dope Shit" in 2002 to "Heavy Heart", a new collaboration with Skrillex and Fireboy DML, Dice has always been in the headlines. After his debut album "7 Dunham Place" on his own now long-running and well-regarded Desolat in 2008, came the major label follow-up "Underground Sound Suicide" on Ultra Music with guests like Giggs, Just Blaze, and Neneh Cherry, then the agenda-setting and club-focussed house and techno showcase that was "Love Letters" in 2018. 

Add in tens of EPs on Ovum, Minus, Cocoon, to name a few, and his remixes from everyone from Kevin Saunderson to Moby, Black Coffee to Disclosure, Warren G to Basement Jaxx, Loco Dice has always been at the beating heart of the electronic scene. 

His DJ sets, too, always brim with personality, whether in a small underground basement or on an iconic main stage at some of the world's top festivals like EDC Ultra, Tomorrowland and Coachella to name a few, playing to thousands. He has had era-defining residencies at iconic Ibiza super clubs like Circoloco at DC-10 and on the Amnesia Terrace as well at Space Miami. 

His lockdown move has been to unveil En Coleur, a label reserved exclusively for his own music produced at that time. SB Recordings followed. A new label open to all styles of dance music.

Since day one Loco Dice constantly pushes the boundaries of techno and house music production, from his appearance in 2004 PlayStation2 game "Decks & FX" to cooking up his own ideal fusions of hip hop and electronic music with his FKD side project or writing critically acclaimed runway soundtracks for Italian fashion designer Marcelo Burlon during Men’s Fashion Week in Milan for both FW20 and SS20.

Dice's distinctive fashion sense and strong visual aesthetic manifest in his collaborations with Amsterdam fashion label Daily Paper, pro sports hat purveyors New Era and in his own clothing brand Seran Bendecidos. 

All of this and his longevity prove that Loco Dice is undoubtedly an insatiable creative force most interested in the uncharted territory between genres and styles, the elements that link everything together.
