Coming in for a full on Hive Audio label debut after already contributing a track to our „Summer Slices Compilation 2018“ is Mar Dean, another long standing activist from the Swiss underground now aiming at international dancefloors with his „Come With Me EP“ release.

Opening with the title track „Come With Me“ Mar Dean approaches high energy Tech House in a truly uplifting fashion, draws inspiration from classic HardBag build-ups and finally triggers ecstatic crowd reaction with a rolling monster of a bassline accompanied by masterly crafted melodic elements in motion. A true banger with a slightly progressive twist.

Dealing with „Volcano Pigs“ we see Mar Dean coming from a slightly different angle, catering a stompy, well sculpted and defo more Techno-leaning foundation drumwise before opening things up with intricate melodic interplay and slightly dubbed out House stabs, hard filtered vocal samples and ghostly FX for spine-tingling moments on the dancefloor.

Teaming up with vocalist Nicole, Mar Dean is in for serious „Euphoria“ caused by hyper-harmonic, somewhat melancholia inducing chord progressions in combination with emotionally touching storytelling – all falling together to form the most beautiful electronic love song you've heard in ages.

Finally German producer Ron Flatter is in for a remix treatment, transforming and reshaping „Euphoria“ into a captivating, ever cascading Tech House anthem infused with huge harmonic basslines, angelic pads and a big portion of ravey, intense vibes for an ultimate peaktime takeoff. Just weeks after releasing his new studio album Flourish, Damian Lazarus returns with two cinematic remixes of the lauded Jem Cooke collaboration ‘Into The Sun’. Damian carefully chose two of modern electronic music’s most celebrated producers to reimagine the original, welcoming unique takes from Mano Le Tough and Nathan Fake. 

Lazarus remains a curator fixated on showcasing new sounds and emerging talent in everything he does. Much like his tenure breaking artists and pushing boundaries through the influence of Crosstown Rebels, he has brought an innate sense of purpose to Flourish’s remix selection. 

The package leads with the distinctly delicate touch of Mano Le Tough, an Irishman who’s quest for deeper dancefloors has made him one of scene’s most in demand artists. Mano’s Crosstown debut adds to an already decorated discography across labels like Pampa, Permanent Vacation and his own Maeve. Adorned with his signature pitch bending and uniquely layered percussion, his remix retains the hopefulness embodied by the original while priming it for the return of rave. 

Nathan Fake brings a different set of tools to the package, wielding a sense of grit and atmosphere that can be heard throughout his Blizzards album released this year on his own Cambria Instruments. His remix retains the broken beat energy and haunting mood of ‘Into The Sun’ while remapping its melody for both beauty and cadence. It is this elevated understanding of texture and suspense that has earned mainstay status from Ninja Tune and Border Community, while attracting remixes for Radiohead, Jon Hopkins and Tiefschwarz to name a few.

Agoria's classic ‘For One Hour’ is back for a re-release with new remixes in 2020 ! 
Sébastien Devaud started producing in 1999 and first gained international recognition with a series of 12´s on Pias recordings in 2002, which were followed by the acclaimed album ‘Blossom’ a year later.  One of the pioneers who invented techno in France, Agoria has produced other four long-players, released on some of the most celebrated techno labels like Innervisions, Kompakt and Hotflush and remixed artists such as Moby, New Order & Metronomy. His production techniques have collided with an army of notorious artists including Tricky, Neneh Cherry and Peter Murphy (leader of the legendary Bauhaus).
His desire "to constantly try new adventures", lead him to help to establish the Nuits Sonores festival in Lyon, and to create two of the most avant-garde labels of the French electronic scene: Inﬁné in 2006, a platform for new music that always challenges and excites, then his own label Sapiens in 2016.
The last album ‘Drift’ (2019), in collaboration with Mercury / Universal, conﬁrmed his talent for the sensuality of acoustic melodies and the reﬁnement of modernist productions, without ever completely denying his electronic roots. 

Originally released in 2013 ‘For One Hour’ features the amazing vocals from Scalde, complemented by a soaring violin, dessicated horns and Agoria's typically rhythm pattern. Epic and elegant. The package includes new remixes by Laolu and Fort Romeau.
Geneva based Laolu drops his best remix since his reinterpretation of ‘Too Much Information’, a perfect amalgamation of modern house vibes, deep basslines and elegant synth textures with the intense vocals of Scalde. Classic ! Michael Greene aka Fort Romeau has made a name in the last years with his releases on labels like Running Back, Correspondant, Permanent Vacation. His rework is built on a 707 beat,  lush bass and warm keys, and the strings take on a Balearic softness.  
Atmospheric and emotional , timeless and melancholic !

Dutch duo Tunnelvisions strip things back with a hypnotic bassline on Budakid’s WALKMAN Remix.
Gerd Janson dips ZEUS by the wonderfully wordly Swiss collective Sirens Of Lesbos into his cauldron of ‘80s Italo disco synth wizardry (licensed via Sirens Of Lesbos).
Panthera Krause transforms THE AMERICAN by french artists O.N.O &  Jabberwocky into a high-enery, italy-disco dancefloor weapon. 
Biesmans pushes the button marked ‘Full Italo’ and sets the feel-good dial to ‘11’ on his spunky remix of CIAO by Enduro Disco, pitching wiggling bass arpeggios against triumphant chords, deft ‘80s drums and spine-tingling melody. 
Osunlade’s Yoruba Soul mix of HIGH TOWER by James Curd is typically classy, stripping things back down to a soulful lilt with shimmering synth arps and tumbling bongos decking out a succinct, warm, beautiful arrangement.
Enduro Disco’s LUV ME MORE balances tumbling percussive elements with a sexy bass throb and a bouncing, delicate synth line to beautiful effect.
Original Panoramabar resident, Robert Johnson and Permanent Vacation recording artist Masssimilano Pagliara provides a masterful rework of STREET VIOLENCE by swedish artist NEAT, cooking up a flurry of melodic beauty.
French dance music royalty Yuksek amps up the bass funk on his remix of MODERN DANCE by O.N.O, slides in some gentle acid tones and generally pumps the whole thing up. 
GOOD TIMES ROLL by dutch duo T.U.R.F. builds a foundation of chunky beats around some sweet jazz-funk vibes, with dashes of sax and clavinet interpersing the piledriver bassline.
IT IS U by NEAT echoes the deepest of classic progressive house with its plaintive feel, building through bobbing arpeggios and crystalline chimes while a chugging Italo disco-esque groove pushes it forward.   
TRY A LITTLE HARDER by Enduro Disco rocks a spacey disco groove where descending, detuned bass notes tumble over delayed string hits and hypnotic motifs.
GET READY by Phonk D teases with warped piano before unleashing a loose funk b-line and dubby vocal snippets.
DANCING IN HONG KONG by Romain FX provides a madcap end to the EP, a cute little ‘80s electro-funk jam where jaunty keys, organ bass and a little city pop vibe rub up against each other.
All in all this is a great eclectic dance compilation by one of the top deephouse labels out there. Too bad you could not enjoy the music in the club.
