On 21st September the rising French DJ/producer Simo Cell presents new mini album ‘YES.DJ’ – his first solo record since 2018 – released on his own label TEMƎT. A celebration of dance music culture, each of these heavy-duty, titanium-plated bangers are a tribute to different styles of beats, reinterpreted and suffused with his distinct personality.

The release also comes with a fanzine, which continues the celebration of DJing and dancefloors from a sideways perspective, curating photos taken by Simo of drinks tokens from clubs around the world.

Simo Cell - not all it's cracked up to be

Premiere of a track by qwqwqwqwa taken from his upcoming album on Neoplasm.

Producer and DJ from Saint Petersburg, Russia, who has already appeared on Neoplasm compilations, will present his debut full-length record "Fashion Music For Scammers" on November 25th.

The idea of the album was born at the beginning of the pandemic during the first lockdown. At that time, the artist moved from St. Petersburg to the countryside. In addition to the large amount of free time that could now be spent on writing music, the feeling of how much different life in the big city was from the calm and measured countryside became more clearly evident, especially to the ear. This influenced the sound and mood.

"You can hear pretty well what was produced in the city and out of town. There was this idea of using city noises to convey the atmosphere associated with the place I live in," says the artist. "And everything I did when I was out of town turned out to be more voluminous and light, not as overloaded." As a result, the album conveys a sense of disconnection from city life, and the feeling you get when you return there.
