This song is part of the Ferry Sessions; short tracks composed in the front seat of my car, or the passenger lounge on the Skeena Queen during my weekly ferry ride into town.  The trip is 35 minutes each way, so, the bulk of the tracks' main themes, phrases, loops, and arrangements are laid down in about an hour, with a wee bit of tinkering when I get back home. 

Contrary to my regular M.O. there are no vintage synths here, just an old MacBook with Garageband, a Microkorg, and a no-name MIDI controller.

Just messing things up a bit while I drink my morning coffee. 

This is a "live" jam recorded in one take using a Volca Bass passed through an EH Bass Micro Synthesizer and a $10 analogue delay pedal as the lead. Baseline courtesy of the Juno-6 sync'd to a TR-707. I threw in a couple random samples to spice things up a bit. MIDI be damned!

Got a NEW toy!!. Using an Arturia Beatstep Pro to drive a vintage Roland aJUNO-1 and an old Roland JV-35. I'm working out some riffs and instrument combinations for an upcoming live show. When I was Mastering this, somehow the VST plugin I was using to create the Bass got boosted and stuck all the way on maximum power and was unchangeable for some reason. So, I just kept it that way~
