Sophia Roxanna Setrakian, also known as Sofi Rox, is an open-hearted singer-songwriter with a deep love for the truth. Born May 7th, 1988 in San Francisco, Ca, Sofi wrote her first song at age 3:

"I love my mommy
I love my daddy
I love my brother
I love my family
because I love love" 

True to her word, Sofi is known for her melodic love songs with simple accompaniment and dynamic vocals. Not easily categorized, Sofi weighs a fine balance between both folk & pop. Somewhere amidst the union of visionary words and infectious melodies is born the genre she calls "acoustic folk pop." With a storytelling spirit reminiscent of Woody Guthrie, a penchant for popular music, and the sweet soulful voice of a songbird, Sofi's intuitive style remains soulful and true.

As a child, Sofi spent her time singing in the trees. She was always outside exploring and observing, and when she did come inside, it was to sit at the piano. At age 6, she began studying classical piano. Her teacher was very talented; her teacher scared her. "I would literally hide right before our lesson was scheduled. I remember hiding in the garden - my parents calling my name for what felt like hours" Needless to say, Sofi found a new sweet whimsical teacher, and continued her studies in piano pressure-free. "I sometimes imagine the young pianist prodigy I could have turned out to be - had I stuck with it." Sofi Recalls, "but that is really just a part of my nature. I am along for the ride"

At the age of 12, Sofi was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent brain surgery. She admits, "it was the best thing that ever happened to me." Sofi, who had been left-handed, lost control of her left side, and became unable to play the piano. Oppositely, Sofi's songwriting blossomed. Always a hard worker, she saved up her money to buy a guitar. A mason jar labeled "guitar fund" was soon taken to the local music store where Sofi purchased her first guitar, a Dean electric/acoustic. The guitar sat in the closet for years. "One day, with encouragement from a friend of mine, I looked at that guitar and decided - I'm gonna learn how to play that thing. I was 20 years old"
