Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, ‘Satellite’, by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin’s Plus8, Sven Vath’s Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like ‘Zoe’, ‘Polyester’ and ‘Fire In My Arms’, all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, ‘Satellite’ is Sam’s first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

From there it’s a case of getting straight down to business. ‘Another Chance’ is a spacey bit of cantering techno and ‘White’ is rooted in devastating kick drums and is riddled with serrated synth lines that build lots of great techno pressure. ‘Down’ is an undulating bit of funky techno complete with choice vocal flourishes and tracks like ‘Lotus’ are prime offerings from the deeper end of the scale.

No two tracks sound the same on Satellite: Sam is always teasing out a new bit of texture, nailing a slightly different vibe or exploring different amounts of light and dark throughout the course of this most excellent album. This is evidenced by diverse cuts like ‘Dusty’, ‘Toxic’ and ‘Rave’.

Despite ‘Satellite’ being Sam’s debut album, it showcases his seductive style in all its glory across 12 fantastic tracks that will leave you begging for more.

Athens-based duo Keep Shelly In Athens have been churning out their idiosyncratic take on pop music since 2010, but 2015’s Now I’m Ready is only their second official LP. At eight songs and 45 minutes, the album strikes a concise, yet imposing figure, each individual effort comprised of enough peaks and valleys to bring the listener to the edge and back again. Lifted off by lead single “Fractals”, Now I’m Ready is not your typical indie effort, un-beholden to tempo and style, the album skips across genre tropes with ease, each track guided by producer RΠЯ’s singular aesthetic and vocalist Myrtha’s unmistakable crescendos.

And whether you’re locked into a long road trip, careening around a city or looking over the Mediterranean, Keep Shelly In Athens bring an arresting pathos to the proceedings, felt everywhere from the breakbeat-led madness of “Hollow Man” to the ever-building, hypnotic vocal qualities of “Now I’m Ready”. It’s only the duo’s second official LP, but considering their release history on outlets as diverse as Cascine, Forest Family and Planet Mu, it’s no surprise that their arrival on Friends of Friends is such an unabated success.

Keep Shelly In Athens - Now I'm Ready (Loframes Remix)

Butch’s newest offering ‘Retechno 2’ is a bass-heavy, dark, two track techno delight. The kick drums are intense, the samples interesting and the synths apparent – Butch’s quirky style of production can be heard throughout. Magnetic, holding a futurist edge with it’s spaceship sounds, cuts a deep groove with eager crescendos and heavy drops. Antimatter is packed with energy, a driving bass line and fierce drops. Butch’s productions are raw, powerful and robust - a release not for the faint hearted.

After numerous excursions as the three-piece analog outfit Premiesku, Romanian house crusaders Livio & Roby are back to their old ways. Despite it being several months since their last release as a duo, numerous sonic parallels can be drawn between their new Delta Reshape EP and the music they've been making as Premiesku. To start off with, the boys now fully embrace modular synthesis in their studio workflow – with new Buchla and Eurack systems, if that's what you're into. All four Reshapes on their forthcoming Vakant release – Singular, Tidal, Modal and (our pick) Electricity – sees the guys adopt a weirder, more leftfield exploration of sounds and textures. An exciting comeback to whet our appetites for a heavyweight collaborative LP project they've got coming this summer, so we hear. Stay tuned...

The first time Martin heard this song on the radio, he called me (Tristan) up and was like, "you HAVE to hear this new song by Alessia Cara! It has this dope 'ay ay ay ahhh' vocal chant in the chorus!" Right away, we thought about how awesome it would be to remix it. Then about a week later, our manager emailed us the track (without knowing how much we liked it) and asked us if we wanted to take a stab at it. No brainer.

Anyways, we had so much fun making this remix! We made a crazy vocal chop in the drop, I played a little guitar, and it was our first time working with a rap. Hope you guys like it, and if you do, PLEASE give it a heart on HypeM. Thanks!

With their debut album 'Yoncalla' out and an international tour approaching, this mix for i-D was made during a rare moment of peace after Yumi Zouma finished the first half of a tour supporting their new album. In fact it came together on a 26 hour flight from France to New Zealand via Dubai after an afternoon spent rushing between the Boulevard Ney prefecture and the UK Immigration Centre in Paris, applying for French and UK visas. These songs are all favourites and were chosen in order to decompress and recharge the band's internal batteries. Press play and enjoy! <3

Making their debut in 2015 with the self-released single ‘Get Real (Can’t Touch Your Love)’, Anglo-French duo Loframes (London based musician James Yuill & Antibes producer Franck Russo) quickly established themselves as ones to watch, their stylish mix of synth-pop, deep house and nu-disco winning them a legion of fans amongst DJs, public and press.

Building on their initial success the band cemented their reputation with acclaimed remixes for some of the biggest acts around, including M83 and Erasure, and with 2 more original singles 'Since You've Gone', featuring French nu-disco star Anoraak on US label Midnight In Paris, and 'Real Life' on fast rising French label Splinter at the end of 2017.
 
Having taken a sabbatical whilst James recorded and released his latest solo album (2017's 'A Change of State'), the duo are now back fully recharged and refreshed with several collaborations and releases already lined up for 2018.
