If, 20 years ago, you told me that I'd still be writing about ambient music, I think I would have simply laughed. How much could be said, not just with words but also with these sounds? But as the years appear to speed up, I find myself immersed in it much more (even as I see so many other publications slowly disappear), discovering new layers, space and people who have another story to convey, one that I am happy to be a part of. Regular followers of this site will, without a doubt, recognise my personal connection with the present moment, often hoping to convince myself and others that we should focus on what is instead of how it was before and certainly instead of how it could be. How could it possibly be any other way? How could we not be here and now, experiencing all that's happening around us as it could only be? Are there better times ahead of us, or is it only doomsdays? And does it really matter when we get there in the end? Okay, I'll pause here for a time and focus on the music, premiering for you a piece by Austin-based ambient artist TJ Dumser, who releases music under his Six Missing moniker. This piece is titled "Guidance", and it is taken from his upcoming full-length, Here For Now. Across the twelve pieces on the album, soft pads, swirls, and swooshes are echoed in a faint, reverb-drenched ambient calm, sometimes accompanied by the quiet acoustic guitar strums, sometimes allowed to simply expand into infinite indistinct space. It's in this space where I find myself writing these words. Here for now... and hopefully for a little bit more...

Skrika presents his third album on Cryo Chamber, Vyeltyra Vortex. A masterfully crafted cinematic dark ambient experience continuing to expand on the universe that started with the album Fifth Nature.

The Yn, having fled from a dying Earth, have charted their own path of exploration to that of Cerria and her followers, searching for a new home. Worshipping the mystical natural powers of the universe, the Yn have travelled to a myriad of planets seeking enlightenment. Every new civilisation they encounter speak in awe of Vyeltyra-B, and of the mysterious and secretive Vyeltyrans — a race that can control time — the chrononsphere. The Yn quickly discover that rather than a path to enlightenment, on Vyeltyra-B a path awaits of a far darker kind.

Understood by the Vyeltyrans as an evolving force, time requires great prowess to control, otherwise it can tear apart the very fabric of your being — your soul from your body. The Vyeltyrans have devised a series of rites of passage all must undergo. These rites are designed to test control of your thoughts and memories across time, and of your spiritual and physical being across multiple intersecting timelines. The leaders of the Yn — Atom, Fiadh, and Ebba — agree to undergo these rites. Initiates progress through a series of chambers for each rite, with each becoming increasingly more challenging.

Recommended for fans of crisp production, psychoacoustic ambience and ethereal atmospheres.

Línia / Pedra / Paisatge / Solc has been finally released by the wonderful Whitelabrecs run by the super talented Harry Towell. You can already listen, purchase and support my latest work based on a very specific landscape.

This special limited edition release is in a run of 100 copies, modeled around the classic gatefold vinyl LP. It includes printed front, rear and inner sleeves featuring photography by myself, along with a card sleeve which houses a printed vinyl-effect CDr.

This is the outcome of my residency at Culla during Fall 2018 and marks the second collaboration with Double Bass player Rafa Ramos Sania. Album has been mastered by Pedro Pina. The whole thing has been possible thanks to Culla, mágica y medieval, Espai Nivi Collblanc, Mariano Poyatos Mora.
