So I just realized I never actually wrote an editorial here so here goes: This particular track was pretty much done as a reaction - we released our intro "Memento" in early 2006 and the reaction wasn't stellar. People hated the synth and the music, which was a bit heartbreaking because it was my first job working on a 64k soundtrack for Conspiracy - I was angry and hurt. At the same time, at the same party, I entered a ~1800 byte exemusic entry called "Demise" which was very much a proof of concept of doing these huge basslines in small sizes.

When we started working on Chaos Theory, I was very much driven by my recent introduction to https://soundcloud.com/blacksunempire/ - the influence was pretty tangible. At the same time I meshed influences from mainstyle hardcore I was getting into (https://soundcloud.com/djthaplayah/tha-playah-fuck-tha-fame by https://soundcloud.com/djthaplayah/ just came out at the time), and for some reason I felt a strong influence by Dream Theater at the time too, which I can't explain.

The response to this track was absolutely overwhelming, and to this day I'm not entirely sure what resonated with people or why, but I'm glad that it did.

About the EP : 
The Milanese duo Early Morning gives us a very spacious and floaty track. The continuous arpeggiator and the resonant lead brings us to a pleasant dreamy experience.

Hicky & Kalo reinterprete the track adding warmer drums thus establishing a closer groove, retaking the continuous arpeggiator and composing an engaging melody.

Italian producer Ivory complements the arpeggiator giving it a touch of melancholy and generates a more heady groove creating thereby a perfect track for the late hours.

Purple Pill is likely a new name for most electronic music fans but they’ve already made their mark with a string of successful bootlegs, most notably of Brainbug’s classic ‘Nightmare’ and Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick In The Wall’. Their first official release has turned out exceptionally well beginning with the title EP ‘Cambodia’. Their next release ‘Tambaka’ is a fusion between Afro-Tech and Progressive atmospheres all combined together with powerful build up that brings the energy to a next level of mayhem dance floor wise.
