Born and raised in Northern New Jersey about 10 minutes outside of Harlem, NYC. I started taking the bus to Harlem around age 12, and would buy mix tapes, ganja, and records from various bodegas and record stores, and watch the videos playing in the stores of live Jamaican dancehalls and after befriending Ras Irone (the Nyabingi priest at a Rasta church in Harlem) I was immersed in Rasta culture and music and realized I needed to spread this unique music to everyone I could! I’ve been making mixes ever since and trying to spread positivity, love and the various incredible/impactful messages that reggae music contains. Based in Asheville, NC for 10 years, and now Northern California for the past 11 years, I’ve gotten some amazing opportunities to work with a lot of my favorite reggae artists of all time, and feel very blessed every time I get a song cut for my sound system by these icons! I hope you enjoy the tracks/mixes, and they can bring some joy or insight to you as they have to me. I’ve been spinning live shows and opening up for reggae artists for the past 21 years, and have no intention of stopping. Mabrak means the sound of thunder in Amharic, a language of Ethiopia.
