When the first rays of the morning sun pierce through the fog, when dancers follow the beat of their own glowing heart as much as the music, when distance and past and future are but memories melting into an inner landscape, we listen to music differently.

It is these magic hours that come to mind, while submerging into Leni’s journey into the deep. Of course, we're talking about @frida-darko, who for years has consistently delivered fantastic and carefully curated sound.

✔️ What are your musical influences?

Sophie:  I come from a family where classical music was always played and listened to, and  I played  piano & harp during my childhood. I later discovered electronic music, then downtempo music from Germany, and immediately loved it. Today, Ninze and his project Wide Awake are a main source of inspiration for me, but I like to mix different genres in my DJ-Sets.

Damien: I was mainly a huge fan of the 60-70 psychedelic rock or progressive rock but I also loved the blues, soul, disco or Spanish flamenco or French and Italian singer/songwriter. I wanted to be a rockstar at 14 years old and started playing the guitar and the piano. I ended up being a DJ and had the opportunity to play in nice venues. Cool! :)

✔️ What do you think makes a good after-hours?

Being able to offer some change in the dynamic of the party. Giving a fresh air and a new perspective to people to enjoy music in a different way. In our opinion it is often at the end of the parties that the dance floor kinda have a nice unique vibe where you feel that the crowd is really united. 

✔️ What thoughts would you like to share with us about the gig?

It might sound a bit cheesy like those motivation speeches you can hear or read on the internet but in this case we kind of feel it this way. Doing a set together is not always easy, but in the end we really loved the result because it reflects both of us and we really managed to overlap the songs in a very coherent storyline.

It was awesome since we played this set exactly one year to the day after our first b2b at Kitkat Club in Berlin. It was a great honour and pleasure to be reunited again behind the decks to play for the closing of the main stage " Le Cèdre Olympien" at Chateau Perché Festival in France. We would like to thanks all the dancers who made the ride with us and stayed until the early hours of the morning, Christian Kahl for the invitation,  and the Kamiwaza crew for building this amazing stage. And last but not least, we thank Afterhours sounds for including this memorable set in your wonderful Podcast serie. MERCI <3 We hope you can enjoy this recording.

better late than never ☻ here is the live set i played at the 2023 edition of the legendary birthday of @mira_kater at kater blau in berlin. it was a beautiful event once again full of long-time reunions with friends & artists from all parts of the world. i had loads of fun playing in packed & sweaty acid bogen with all of you and love to think back on it <3

due to some unfortunate technical issues, this is a re-recording of the set i played that night, so i guess @arutani and i have something in common there ;-) i hope you enjoy it nonetheless! happy new year to all of you.
